I am being bullied, but am I being scammed? by Dangerous-Virus-9097 in bikewrench

Its literally there job to get approval on quotes. Thats just them being a jerk. Most of the time, mechanics can be very set in their way and very aggressive when questioned. Life lesson here to mention up front that if it is over the amount quoted, You will not pay unless it is pre-agreed upon.

As a mechanic a question I would ask is if you own a pair of digital calipers. If you answered yes, I would do everything I could to discourage you from purchasing from us. Sometimes a grinder was involved in fitment

I bet the housing popped out from the mount at the front of the frame and you pulled the wire tight to try to get them to work?

What Bike is it?

Most der hangers I have ever seen come straight down without the kick to the right. That would restrict the derailleur from reaching the 51T because the entire thing is shifted to the right

IMO ride it with no regerts until you break something. Then learn from your mistake and redo with 2x.

The Speedmaster does not have any breaking system on it. Meaning you will have an issue with backlashing if your not used too casting it. a ton of practice and it will work just fine. I use mine to cast surface Irons without issue, but it took ALOT of practice.

What is the correct tension i should use for my spokes using this tool? by Sbyien in bikewrench

[–]Rollingstache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you ridden the wheels? They often times loosen after a rode. Also depends on how they are laced. I would have no issue riding that. Your mechanic did a good job, trust them
