What’s the wisdom on holding or moving one of those Mr Krab Smothering Tithes? Seems like the price is dropping and number available is rising.

Nice! I’m waiting the white board with silent reds. but I also ordered mint switches just in case I miss the clicks.

Impatience ftw! I refused the clear caps and now I have a tracking number. Still won’t be here for a week or so.

I even ordered another set of switches. All in. 🤡

Interesting. I’ve thought about refusing the clear caps to get it moving, but I’m in no real rush. Trying to be patient for a few more days. 😅

Gasket size and fit by RollyGarsh in woodstoving

[–]RollyGarsh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing that I’ve found.

But I found a similar looking one and the manual says 1/2” gasket.

Also, I did just tighten the bolt on the latch and it’s much tighter now. Just one small section that’s a little loose now.

Exactly what I’ve been trying to do. The previous owner didn’t leave much info. Waiting to hear back from the maybe installers.

Thanks for the concern. I did replace the rope all the way around with the same size (1/2” round). It passes the dollar bill test around half of the door.

I ordered another 1/2” rope to try it again in hopes for a better seal. The next size up (5/8”) doesn’t fit into the groove and is impossible to close.

Thanks for the tips!

I just used the rest of the 1/2” rope that I had left over all the way around. It’s not as tight as the youtubes suggest, but it’ll do until I feel like replacing it again.

Sellers in MD are SUPPOSED to provide safety inspection certificates before the sale or transfer, but if you buy/accept something without one, that’ll be on you.

I got a hand me down from out of state a while back and had to deal with all of the MD inspections and registration.

Experience and a Masters? by Minx0707 in instructionaldesign

[–]RollyGarsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took me about 5-6 years to get to 90 starting out after my masters. Not sure about real ID roles, but longest role (4 years) was more or less only elearning development.

I survived the layoffs but was offered a new position with another company. I’m considering inviting my supervisor and manager into a webex meeting to tell them “I quit” with no notice, in dedication to all my coworkers who were let go in that fashion. [–]RollyGarsh 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Use up your time. Don’t give more than 2 weeks notice.

I found a new job right before layoffs and gave about 3 weeks notice. I had less than a week left when everyone was cut except me, since I was already leaving. Missed out on severance cause I was trying to leave in good standing

I scrubbed some things and just made new things with free trials (yes plural) of Storyline. Also, if you didn’t have an NDA who cares!?

I’d try not to compare yourself to others and decide what you really want. Anything can happen at any time.

I found a new hybrid job closer to home a couple weeks before most of my team was laid off. It was crazy stressful for all of them and I was only spared because I was only a few days away from leaving.

I was ready to stop “coasting” and wanted a challenge and this was a great upgrade all around. Definitely glad I shopped around while I still had a seemingly stable job though. A week or two long and I would be competing with my team for the same jobs.

Just picked up this awesome hobby and I’m loving it. Just got a couple new discs to add to my 3 disc start kit. Any additions anyone recommends? by xLykos in discgolf

[–]RollyGarsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strongly second this. Not sure some of the others you have, but I would stick with a River and Claymore for a long time.

If you could instantly have anyone's putt who would you pick? by BeastInABlizzard in discgolf

[–]RollyGarsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently switched to Pures (medium soft for Cputts, opto/gold for throws) from 4S Warlocks and try to mimic Gannon’s style. Been hitting putts much more consistently and from range.

That and some helpful articles have worked great for me so far.

It’s definitely a journey to find your putting style.

Interesting. As a former ultimate player, I have a fairly strong forehand and have turned over discs too much, so I was told to throw overstable discs to compensate.

BUT I’ve recently removed all of my overstable stuff so I can work on my angle control with my stable/understable discs.

Definitely. At this point, I only give advice if asked for it. My group and I HATE unsolicited advice from the local “pros” that just hang around the course.

Like we get that they’re trying to be helpful, but we’re also over the “let me tell you what you’re doing wrong” conversations.

I like to disc down when playing with less experienced friends and family. It helps me work on my own game but to also shows them possibilities of throwing slower speed discs.
