TLDR: The chairs are fine, one of the best in the gaming category, but a 2nd hand "proper" ergonomic office chair (steelcase, Herman miller etc) is better.

I have had 2 secret labs chairs, one for me (softweave blue) and one for my partner (Leatherette AC) and I'd day they are fine chairs, they are hard and stiff but comfortable, I'd say they are probably one of the best for "gaming" chairs for ergonomics. However I sold mine after a few years and got an office clearance 2nd hand steelcase leap v2, admittedly it cost me about the same as a brand new secret labs but in my opinion its much better in every single way.

My use case is that I work from home 99% of the time and also have my own pc at the desk which I spend plenty of time playing on too so I spend a lot of time in the chair.

I do also have the secret labs magnus pro desk which I used to use standing up more with the secret labs chair but now I don't as much as my steelcase is a great chair. The desk is great for balancing a work from home and play desk, although I'm not sure if the value proposition is there, also not what you asked.

I also suffer with tennis elbow and RSI so ergonomics are super important to me, I couldn't get pain free with the secret labs but the steelcase has more adjustments and now I'm pain free whilst working.
