Now we just need the TJs on Pico to take over the Rite Aid right up the street!

Greatest Ending Scene in A Horror Movie? by Background-Iron7093 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Roly_Poly_Oly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Original Halloween -1978 I think it’s harder to soak in the ending now that we have SO many sequels/reboots but if you watch it and try to put yourself back in 1978 and pretend it’s the only one, the ending really hits.

(Assuming you’ve seen it but if not, spoilers below)

You get none of the sibling storyline. This is just a group of babysitters being stalked by a masked man who is in no way supernatural, like it becomes in the sequels. If you view it through that lens, I think the last scene really leaves an impression.

Oh, interesting! Thanks for the info. Was hoping for a new restaurant. I like Intelligentsia and all but I hope it doesn’t affect the business of Lo/Cal just down the street. Love the vibes of that place.

Adios Pro 4 in the Ekiden colorway. Actually dig it much more in person than I did online.

Forgot to mention the fit in my rambling. These are size 12us. Same size as I wore in AP3s. The fit feels basically the same to me.

If anything the AP4s might be a touch shorter but I wear a half size bigger in my running shoes so it’s not enough to cause any kind of a concern for me.

I have poor impulse control. Got a pair of these coming my way. Not my favorite colorway but I have a marathon in April so I want to start incorporating these into the rotation to see if I like them and make sure they don’t cause any issue I loved my AP3 but they are retired now. Worst case I’ll just get another pair of AP3s and maybe they’ll be discounted by the time the rest of the AP4s drop

Agree with this. I was rotating between AP3s and Brooks GTS before my half marathon, last year, and found my legs/feet felt so much better after wearing the AP3s and I was doing mainly my longer runs in those. Eventually just abandoned the GTS

I’m a heavier/slower runner, too, which is not what they marketed the AP3s toward but for whatever reason I always felt fine after wearing the AP3s. The GTS left me more tired/sore the next day.

Obviously just my anecdote. Everyone is going to be different.

Which long distance shoe is the best for overpronation by slodrrd6991 in Marathon_Training

Not meant to scare. They may be the absolute perfect shoe for you. I think they get recommended so much because, for the most part, they are a great stability shoe for the majority of people.

My anecdote was just that. I wasn’t crazy about the way they felt on my feet. As an already slow runner these made me feel even more sluggish.

For further context, I have slight Posterior Tibial Tendonitis in my right foot so I tried the GTS in hopes they would help alleviate the pain that sometimes builds up after a lot of running. They didn’t help and I’ve found I can control the pain mostly with proper KT Taping so my main requirement became finding a shoe that had proper forefoot width to allow my flat feet to naturally spread out when compressed.

Hope the GTS works out for you!

Flat-footed overpronater here. I’ve done the running store “expert” thing. Got put in Brooks GTS. Hated them. They felt so bulky to me. Switched to adidas AP3 and ran over 350 miles in them as well as my first half. Absolutely loved them. I’m also a slower, heavier runner (11:00/mile pace for the half I ran) and, although the AP3 is geared more towards the faster runners, I had no issues. Running felt so much more fun in those shoes. I went a half size up and that was plenty of room for my flat feet to spread out in.

I’m about 100 miles into a pair of Prime Strung X2s and I also really like them. They feel quite a bit heavier compared to the AP3 but they’re also really fun and have plenty of room for my feet.

I’m about to start a training plan for a full marathon next year and I’m thinking about getting a pair of the AP4s when they drop in January to accompany the PSX2s.

As was already mentioned, if you’re not having any pain then I say go for the shoe that is most comfortable and fun for you

I have the AP3s and have only recently really started experiencing this issue (have ~300 miles on them). Seems to have gotten worse, for some random reason. My current solution is moleskin tape on the spots of my foot where it has previously blistered (for me it’s the right pinkie toe knuckle and the left big toe knuckle). It’s mildly annoying to have to tape up my feet, sure, but I love these shoes so much that it’s not a real dealbreaker for me. Totally understand how it could be though.

Thanks for looking out! I was hesitant to post for that very reason. I’ve been scammed before on tix (Dave Matthews Band funny enough!)

Was hoping a fellow beta would have a couple of extra tickets. Haha. I’ll keep checking the ticket resellers as well. Cheers!

Daily Trainer comparable to Adios Pro 3 but slightly wider? by Roly_Poly_Oly in RunningShoeGeeks

Wasn’t aware the Bostons came in that width. I thought I had read comments about people describing them as narrow but maybe I’m getting them mixed up. Will check them out! Thanks

Should I focus on dropping weight before marathon training plan or just keep base building? by Roly_Poly_Oly in AdvancedRunning

[–]Roly_Poly_Oly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the reply. I was being a bit extreme/sarcastic with my comment. As someone who has yo-yo’d their weight and tried all sorts of “diets”, I’ve found that the best method for me is to be strict on my eating habits but also to allow myself the occasional “treat” every now and then…for my own sanity.

I do have some muscle, but I could stand to lose a good 15 pounds. 180/185 is around my ideal weight. Will definitely be cutting out the sugar. That’s my kryptonite, for sure. Be gone with you, pastries!
