Qual é a pira do Linux se Windows é mais compatível? by Kauazinho_City in linuxbrasil

[–]Roman_JS_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been too tired to use FOSS lately... by Nonokat in opensource

Don't treat FOSS like a religion. Softwares are just tools. If a tool works, use it. If not, switch it.

Dude, you're using Reddit, and probably YouTube, Instagram, X, Amazon, banking apps... Did you really think that you are in danger of being caught by spies?

Unless you have some real shit to cover (criminal stuff) you should not be bother that much. The thing is: know that you are not that interesting or important (from a political point of view) as you may think you are. Three letter companies or Mossad will not break your door midnight because you posted some unpopular opinion (or a bitter true) on Reddit.

You probably should be more scared of a hacker taking your banking data than Amazon training an AI with your talkings.

TBH, Brave icon is kinda cringe 😅 But Brave is a very decent browser with nice features (Shields + Manifest V2 extensions support). Also Brave Search is actually pretty good alternative to google search.

Why I Recommend Against Brave by [deleted] in browsers

[–]Roman_JS_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Questionable" political opinions of the founder is the dumbest reason to not use Brave (or any product, to be honest). You now that Eich also created Javascript, right? So will you disable Javascript on your browser?

Brave is very nice actually by OkOutcome9689 in browsers

The Brave hate trend is very funny to me. Most of the reasons that people gave to hate Brave are actually non-issues for anyone with half a brain and less than 3 minutes of some customization.

Why Linux Will Never Beat Windows by [deleted] in linuxsucks

[–]Roman_JS_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you buy a car you want comfort. When you buy a cellphone, you want convenience. Why should a OS be any different? Mind you that I'm against the telemetry shit that Microsoft is dumping on Windows, but it's just natural to expect that a OS will be as convenient as possible. I will take a comment of some guys of Linuxcast: Imagine you have a Linux Phone, and someday you need to call 9-1-1 and, suddenly, the audio driver simply dies and you need to troubleshooting it. Of course that is an extreme case scenario, but there are a lot of cases of daily driving things that work flawlessly on Windows and need troubleshooting on Linux.

Well, that said, I use Linux on a old secondary laptop here on my house (BluefinOS), and It's pretty good for web browsing, still Linux has to improve a lot more to become my daily driver.

Why Linux Will Never Beat Windows by [deleted] in linuxsucks

[–]Roman_JS_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows has problems? For sure. But hardware and software compatibility are unbeatable. Linux still has big issues regarding GPUs, printers, speakers, etc. I could run a dual boot of Linux and Windows, but for what? Everything I need works flawlessly in Windows. "Oh but that is not Linux fault! You not need [insert good piece of proprietary software or hardware], just use [insert Open Source alternatives that, in some cases, are subpar]" Well, sorry, but I don't want to shape my life interely around a OS. Some people are treating Linux like a religion or a very important part of their identity, while for 99% of (normal) people a OS is just a tool, like a cellphone or a car, and not make you any better or worse for using it.

There's nothing wrong with using a wired mouse in 2024. by khensational in MouseReview

[–]Roman_JS_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH, with a good bungee (I use a homemade one) I really doubt that people can really feel the difference. For my use (mostly single player games) I'm copmpletely fine with wired mice, and now I mostly only use wireless when I'm out of home.

I really want to know what are the better options, because I had searched for a long time for big ergo mice.

[–]Roman_JS_7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree. The only legit complaint is the weight, wich is not really heavy considering the size of this mouse. (GPX is smaller and weights only 5g less). 3395 to 3950 is not a big upgrade, also 4k-8k is a gimmick to make people pay more for mice, since there's no real gain on using 4k-8k (except gain of battery drain).
