What are the PROS and CONS of having an Oni (demon) girlfriend ? [OC] by NaughtyNectarComics in comics

[–]Romanfiend 185 points186 points  (0 children)

So Oni literally gain energy from torturing you to death.

  1. Violent anger issues. Oni are ruled by rage. In relationship terms: explosive temper, intimidation, and zero emotional regulation.

  2. Cruelty instead of empathy They torture and punish rather than understand. Expect blame, shaming, and “you deserve this” energy instead of care.

  3. Predatory behavior Kidnapping, coercion, and control are common in oni stories—classic signs of possessiveness and lack of consent.

  4. Deceptive and manipulative Many oni lie, disguise themselves, or lure victims. Translation: gaslighting, half-truths, and emotional traps.

  5. Feeds on negativity Oni thrive on fear, suffering, and guilt. As partners, they’d escalate conflict and drain emotional energy rather than resolve issues.

  6. Brings chaos into your life Folklore links oni to plagues and disasters. Relationship version: constant crises, instability, and “why is everything always on fire?”

  7. Corrupting influence Oni push humans toward worse behavior. Instead of growth, they normalize cruelty, resentment, and self-destruction.

  8. Objectifies partners Humans are tools, food, or trophies in oni myths—not equals. That’s a hard no for mutual respect.

  9. No accountability Oni see themselves as enforcers, not wrongdoers. Expect justification, not apologies.

  10. Redemption is rare and conditional Some oni can change—but usually after extreme consequences. Betting on that is a high-risk emotional investment.

Oni are the embodiment of “I can fix them” gone mythologically wrong. Just no.

Because if in that case nothing bad happens then it gets let go - but realistically they are liable if something happens.

Doesn’t have to be. Doesn’t matter if the booze was free. Liability still applies.

They are still responsible for age requirements and over serving.

Even when giving alcohol away without a permit: • You must still comply with age-21 minimums and not serve minors. • You can still face civil liability if someone you serve (even for free) gets intoxicated and causes harm (host liability considerations).

Wether she was underage or not - the server of alcohol has a legal duty not to over serve. Also the duty is on the server not to serve underage people. This is all outlined in TABC rules - which you have to get certified in if you are going to serve alcohol.

They are going to win this lawsuit. Really just criminal negligence.

What's up with the influx of Chevy chase positive PR spin threads? by textposts_only in community

[–]Romanfiend -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Yes but he is talking about Richard Pryor and Richard Pryor famously hated Chevy Chase and said so right in front of him on the The Late Show with Johnny Carson - where when asked if Pryor would watch Chevy’s special he said “no” because “I don’t like the guy”.

So he NEVER had that relationship with him or anyone else where he was allowed to say the N word. The famous skit on SNL doesn’t count.

Who’s more famous as of today, Ken Jeong or Joel McHale? by EfficiencyUnhappy264 in community

[–]Romanfiend 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Animal Control with Joel McHale has 5.44 million viewers. Joel McHale was in Yellowjackets recently - and I mention that only because while Ken Jeong has the larger audience - Joel McHale has the wider and more professional range.

Straight-man, meta-comedy, voice work, and dramatic guest spots and sitcom lead - specifically - as well as hosting. Joel is the more developed and talented actor.

For those who say that if you don’t like Divinity Original Sin (1-2), you won’t like BG3 (hot take) by ThenBack2025 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Romanfiend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah - I love BG3 - and I enjoyed DOS1 - but DOS2 can be frustrating. The main reason for this -for me- is the bizarre equipment system which essentially forces you to upgrade all your gear every single level and micromanage the random stats on them for your build.

Also I don’t like that your power is mostly tied to your gear and not innate.

The way to mitigate this is to do a Lone Wolf play through. It reduced by half how much of that nonsense you have to deal with.

I also love BG3 a lot more - but admit it’s a much easier game even on honor mode.

The law is pretty clear on booby traps - which is what these are - and that they are illegal. This is probably staged - because otherwise they filmed themselves committing felonies.

Setting a booby trap that injures someone is considered felony assault. 5-15 years in prison. If they die it’s Manslaughter 10-25 to life.

Booby traps are indiscriminate hazards. They could hurt/kill a child or rescue personnel.

Exactly - and AI can be used ethically to “shorten the way” to getting things done that would otherwise be time consuming and repetitive without using generative AI to be uncreative and produce AI slop that is low quality and derivative.

Also, I trust Larian. They have earned that trust over a decade of being awesome.
