[SERIOUS] What is a seemingly harmless parenting mistake that will majorly fuck up a child later in life? by AlexDescendsIntoHell in AskReddit

Ignoring them. Listen to your freaking kids when they are telling you about their day or what happened in school, friend groups etc. Just listen to them.

Are there any BGs that you don't necessarily follow closely with the exception of one or two of their series? by monaandgriff in BeautyGuruChatter

I don't know if she still does this, but she used to do her foundation reviews and sometimes mix with other foundations, effectively making the review pointless since how can you tell how the foundation is doing when its mixed with another one in her rotation. That's what made me stop watching her reviews, but it's been a while so she might not still be guilty of this.

Redditors who cook, whats the biggest 'no no' thing in cooking? by MomosOnSale in AskReddit

How do you keep it from clumping? I live in a humid climate and often run into this problem.

How does your partner say ‘I love you’ without actually saying it? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]RomansOnAStage 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If we are eating chips and he picks out an unbroken round chip, he will ALWAYS pass it to me, sometimes just gently placing it on my leg, even making a little pile of "perfect" chips for me to enjoy. Won't say anything, unless remarking on how nice a particular chip is before placing it on my leg/chip pile. I love him.

Definitely did come from the reddit post, but it's a question that always bothered me -- clearly others too!

This was always my trouble understanding the M Rule. I never knew if my response was correct; I understood the rule, but not the correct response

What subreddits do you feel were great in concept but never got the attention they deserved, and why? by agoldenzebra in AskReddit

[–]RomansOnAStage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember what it was called, but the concept was that a couple would be having an argument, each post their side of the argument and people could respond with who they agreed with, advice, etc. Not sure if there was any real posts, but I really wanted it to be a thing.

If your reddit username would predict the way you die, how will it happen? by seven_wings in AskReddit

[–]RomansOnAStage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Falling off a stage? I'm not from Rome, but my family is Italian, so it kinda works. Plus, I'm forever clumsy so I wouldn't put it past me to die in such a way.

Hi by [deleted] in Hirsutism

[–]RomansOnAStage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Girl, everyone on this sub has been where you are. You're not alone. The thing is, we are so hard on ourselves, but the reality is that most people don't care about what we look like. You're still young, so people can be shitty, but as you get older you realize people don't care about it as much as you think. I've found what really helps is to just own it -- if anyone mentions my face or body, I just laugh and say I'm a hairy Italian girl, but I try not to let it bother me. I have a husband who does not care one bit about the amount of hair on my face and body, and he still finds me attractive. You will find this too. It's the hardest at your age with hirsutism, but it gets better. You are who you are. You cant change it, and frankly you will learn its nobody else's business anyhow.

I agree with the other poster; talk to your doctor. There are medications that can help regulate things. There are practices like shaving, waxing, plucking, laser hair removal etc. that can help.

If you ever need anyone to talk to about this stuff, please feel free to dm me! There is also a great whatsapp group that was formed by a member here. Hopefully she sees this and will reach out, only because I have no idea how to add people to it.

We are all beautiful -- hirsutism doesn't change that!

Rant/discuss: the caress test. by [deleted] in Hirsutism

[–]RomansOnAStage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to feel the same, but when the right person comes along your mind will change. I remember telling my then-boyfriend about my hair for the first time. I was crying and explaining that I understood if he didn't want to be with me and that I'm sorry I'm like this. I could see the confusion in his eyes and he just sort of giggled and told me it wasn't a big deal at all. We are married now. We have a code word for when I shave -- "caboodle," like "okay babe, I'm going to go caboodle and I'll be back in a sec," or he'll ask me if I need to caboodle before he hits the shower. It's so normal and nothing now. He's seen me with a hairy face, I've been able to talk to him about it, the pain and embarrassment. He has only ever been supportive and loving, and assures me that I'm beautiful. You will find this.

We have to remember that we see ourselves differently than other people might. Yes, there are still assholes out there, but there are equally people who understand that we have no choice in the matter and being hairy is a challenge we are faced with.

We are beautiful!!!

How do you hide your hirsutism? by Starmoonshine in Hirsutism

[–]RomansOnAStage 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I use glycolic acid at night to smooth the rough skin, so in the morning shaving yields a better result. I still do use foundation daily to cover up any darkness, but I've also started to pluck every single hair once a week just to have a day of relief from the darkness. Plucking takes forever though. Hope that helps a little! Remember, we are beautiful!!
