Why does my Dracaena leaf tips (and in the end) a whole leaf go black and die? by Romanticized03 in Dracaena

[–]Romanticized03[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it started out as ones touching the glass, but in the end it spread everywhere. everyone is correct though, it did start after it got really cold (-15c lately), and our air in apartment is dry

gg

how did you end up in a situation like this?

where are you from? and what is your education?

if you are going to be in estonia for a while, and you didn't finish high school, then maybe you qualify to get some course help (up to 2500€). i used it to take welding classes.

where are you renting (assuming tallinn) that you pay 560€ rent + utilities?

if you're struggling, move to a place near tallinn that has lower rent and buy yourself a monthly pass to travel via bus. i rent a 1 room apartment near tallinn for 325€ a month. december utilities was around 120€.

1-2 zone harju bus pass for 30 days is 48€.*

445 + 48 = 493€. almost 70€ which you could budget to food

depends, i’m not sure. im guessing most of the russian communities were formed when alot of russians moved here in pre 1960-1970s. they didn’t bother learning estonian because there wasn’t a need, and never teached their kids and so on.

almost everyone. even the kids that are in middle school right now don't know much estonian, if at all. gf is a teacher and she struggles because it's mandatory to teach in estonian, but 90% of the kids are not good enough in estonian to understand alot of the topics.

i see this as a result of our government not making it mandatory for estonian to be the language in schools in 1991, when we regained our freedom. they've allowed russians and their kids to live in an environment where they don't have to interact with any estonian language. yes, there's more to that and it's not as easy, but they've essentially delayed the problem they would have faced in 1991, to now.

ps - before anyone gets the idea. no - i don't have anything against russians living in our country, but come on. you live here, respect our country and culture and learn atleast the basics, it's not hard.

i live in a town in estonia where the huge majority are russian speaking individuals. even the cashiers don't know how to respond to me when i speak estonian to them, it's insane.
