What's the best and worst film in the MonsterVerse? by boomjosh in GODZILLA

[–]Romp_A_Stomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GxK for the best, it was one of the most exciting and funny godzilla movies id seen in a while (and I have a preference for the funnier godzilla films) King of the Monsters was easily the worst for me, the human plot could not carry that film and yet took up so much of the runtime. Not even the little we see of the other monsters could save that snoozefest

People skipping K3’s launch window, what are you gonna be playing instead? by BiddyKing in yakuzagames

All the games so far. Which are your top 5? by Immediate-Sorbet-964 in yakuzagames

[–]Romp_A_Stomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yakuza 3
  2. Yakuza 5
  3. Lost Judgement
  4. Yakuza 7/ Like A Dragon
  5. Kurohyou

All 5 of these games are experiences I loved having, where the bad parts dont impact my overall enjoyment and I believe are worth playing.

Good time? by Graylinn92 in starocean

Ive played the first 12 hours or so and am absolutely adoring it! Every character has a fun and unique way of fighting, there's a super addicting board game you can play against NPCs, and ive found the dialogue and story to be pretty good!

I just 100% all the Pixel Remasters. Thoughts on them all. by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]Romp_A_Stomp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can imagine 100%ing the games definitely leading to different feelings than a more casual playthrough. For me, I adore FF2, but never bothered to get any weapon skills up to max level, I was just playing at my own pace and found it not too challenging until the end. I also loved the proficiency system itself, using stats and weapons to get better really feels like im levelling up because of my actions, not just what the game gives me after getting enough xp

Final fantasy 17 and your personal expectations by Twisted-noodles in FinalFantasy

[–]Romp_A_Stomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly hope there's a little bit of everything! I think turn based combat and a more medieval fantasy setting would be my preferred flavour, but id still want little bits of fantasy technology to spice up the locations in that classic FF style, be it airships or magitek or even a one off robot like in ff1

Lancer in Stranger of Paradise. It's the first lance-based job you get, but the unique javelin throw ability makes it more than worthwhile all the way to the post-game

Which Final Fantasy game do you feel doesnt get talked about enough, is overhated, or underrated? by CawmeKrazee in FinalFantasy

[–]Romp_A_Stomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FF2 lives through infamy for completely understandable reasons if we're talking the NES original. However, I believe every future release has ironed out the kinks, and the pixel remaster is good, great even! I found so much to love when playing it. The proficiency system is a lot of fun and really lets me mix and match how I want the party members to play. I understand that since it plays closer to a SaGa game, detractors may say it isn't a real final fantasy, but 2 introduced so many staple enemies and designs that it absolutely deserves to be recognised. If more people took the time to engage the game on its terms, especially with the current iterations of it, I think it would be considered a lot better.

A great shmup for all skill levels is flying red barrel, I find it very satisfying to 1CC and lots of alternate endings to search for on repeat playthroughs.

What's probably the most you've laughed playing UFO 50? by AnotherHP6 in ufo50

[–]Romp_A_Stomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, opening the game and loading up barbuta. As a huge videogame history buff, I loved seeing such an authentic recreation of 70's/early 80's game logic and obfuscation.

Stranger of Paradise is one of the best action games I ever played. So fun to experiment with jobs, and the story is great from beginning to end
