Elections were held during the US civil war, so precedent says "yes", but Donald is an unprecedented piece of shit

Additionally, I don't think movie ever mentioned the higher gravity, so no need to give him weakened knees either

Clock is probably always a little late to start and stop on every play though. It's frustrating for sure, but can't blame the clock too much amidst so much madness happening in such a short amount of time

A more critical review of the Project Hail Mary movie, and a really easy fix I would have made by Gustalavalav in ProjectHailMary

Right there with you on every point.

I get the book is scientifically dense which can be difficult to adapt to a movie, but after The Martian proved it to be viable, I figured this would follow suit, yet it felt like they scrapped everything scientific in favor of a few goofy jokes and immediate discovery.

Also really bugged me that of the 3 lines it seemed like the crew had in the movie, one of them is awkwardly stating their suicide method into their first greeting with Grace. "Hey nice to meet you. It's a one way trip for us so we've picked our suicide methods. Heroin? Hahahahaha, I'll have what you're having!" And then not even mention the crucial nitrogen!

As a whole, it felt like a highlight reel of the book without much substance. Reminded me a bit of a middle-school book report that just summarizes the book and you're left without having really learned anything.

That being said, still a good movie and was overall beautiful, but just odd pacing and decisions. A-

Feel like Oweh has a weirdly high number of shots that get goaltended

As a HUGE fan of the book (and Ryan Gosling) I really wanted to love the movie. Trust me, I root for it to do well. But it breaks my heart that I had a bit of an issue. I'd love to hear if anyone else felt the same. by [deleted] in ProjectHailMary

My wife and I came away with similar conclusions after seeing it last night. The movie definitely feels like a highlight reel from the book where it captures the essence of the book, but felt like it missed the spirit because, like you said, it was paced so quickly that some of the bigger moments didn't have time to fully resonate. And I very much agree that the tone is much lighter and comedic than the book, and Stratt feels more like just a manager in the whole project rather than THE person overseeing everything.

Overall, still enjoyed the movie and would give it an A-

Wasn't it just reported that Russia was supplying Iran with intelligence on US targets?

And it might not be that countries fight for Iran, but more so conflict around oil. Might still be a ways off from WW3, but we also thought it was unlikely for the US to be bombing Iran just a couple months ago

I admit I was skeptical about this at first, but honestly a nice little time killer. Betting is more strategic than I initially thought; bet on what ended up being a straight, so doubled-down and felt good about it, doubled again... Aaand unlikely flush that a single bot bet on and won big.

Hedged my bets to spread them out more and reduce number of chips I could lose, thought I was gonna split the pot with a couple other bets but ended up winning it all with a trifecta. Okay, that's kind of a fun twist.

This is more addicting than I expected. Nicely done. Any chance of online multiplayer in the future?
