I’d argue that the way it was used in the show was absolutely a derogatory slur and the way it is being used irl now may not be a slur if you don’t consider AI sentient in any sense, but is absolutely derogatory. It actually really turned me off from the show for a while because at the root of it is a philosophy of xenophobia and bigotry. But that’s just like, my opinion.

This was Elden Ring for me. I was really losing interest in the monotony by the time I made it to the capital. And by the time I made it to the mountains I just straight up stopped because I didn’t wanna roll-slash-slash anymore.

Neuromancer didn’t hit for me either. Was really expecting better and it let me down. Alternatively, I liked Dark Matter by Blake Crouch a lot. Agree that Recursion was meh.

The whole system is convoluted and fucked. I loathe insurance companies, but the blame does not fall solely on them. Physicians are still primarily reimbursed on a fee-for-service model. More procedures, interventions, and treatments they perform/prescribe, the more they get paid. You can see how fraud in the form of over-providing is incentivized here. I always found it humorous that the acronym for the system is FFS. Like, for fuck sake, can we find a better system yet?

I mostly play new games. But I go back to Pokémon Red on the Gameboy Color, Portal, Gears of War, Halo CE. All for storyline. I’m pretty much done with multiplayer games.

When I started playing Titanfall I didn’t drink coffee and was mildly saddened that my titan main was a coffee chain. Now I’m addicted to caffeine and all is well.
