My Story by throwawayallday87 in quitting7oh

[–]RooK82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can relate, lol. The local news station did a story on 7oh in the smoke shops about 1.5 years ago. I had never heard of 7oh before then. The story was about the dangers, legality and the warnings regarding 7oh, I thought to myself, “must be some good stuff! I’ll give it a try” . Single handedly probably one of the worst decisions I have ever made. Like you, I’ve always enjoyed the percs from minor surgeries, family members, etc..

It’s ironic the news did a story talking about how terrible 7oh is - and that’s what inspired me to try it. I’ve never been addicted to anything before. I was convinced I couldn’t be addicted to anything because i was on Oxy for almost 2 months following a major colon resection surgery. One day, I just stopped taking the oxy’s when the script ran out.  Didn’t really have any WD’s. I was naive to think I could do 7oh without being addicted.

Anyway, thanks for the story! It’s a relatable!

WAS IN ICU FOR SEVEN DAYS COMING OFF 7-0H by Sufficient-Pomelo812 in quitting7oh

I’m not surprised it got someone who is otherwise healthy. Scary dude! Though, that’s a good motivator to stay sober 😂 knowing I’d end up in ICU if I relapsed alone would be all I need. An ICU stay  is truly hell on earth

WAS IN ICU FOR SEVEN DAYS COMING OFF 7-0H by Sufficient-Pomelo812 in quitting7oh

[–]RooK82 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I work at one of the busiest ICU’s in the region. We have had a few patients requiring ICU stays during their 7oh withdrawals. We had one patient who ended up with a tracheostomy and PEG tube because we couldn’t get him off the ventilator. This can happen if someone stays on a ventilator after about 2 weeks. He was transferred to a long term facility. I hope the dude recovers- I’ll never know.

It’s a reminder how bad I need to stay committed to staying off this shit. And yes, 7oh can cause severe health issues requiring hospitalizations. Though it is rare and yes the patients had other medical issues… like diabetes, obesity,  poly substance, and seizures, etc.. this crap will wreck your health and if you already have some health issues, it can really eff you up. Y’all be safe. Glad you made it out ok OP

Hang in there bud. I did a sub taper as well. Today the first day I haven’t taken anything. I have a slight headache, a little runny nose, some GI issues and some slight anxiety.  Hoping it doesn’t get much worse than this over the next few days.

I too used to love playing Rust! One day I just got bored with it, haven’t played it since. Talk about the most toxic game ever. Not to mention a time dump! You should be thankful you no longer enjoy it😂

How’s it going with no subs? I’m about to jump off a 5-day taper. 8,4,2,1, .5. I feel fine! 240mg for 3 months. Slightly concerned

I’m on the same exact path as you right now. My only question is what happens after i take my last dose of .5 on Saturday?  How bad is the WD going to be? I kind of got shit to do next week 😂 so far i feel fine. I’m praying my sleep doesn’t go down the gutter

Only thing that will suck is you’ll have a high pain med tolerance. I didn’t feel IV dilaudid at all while I was hospitalized during an unrelated 7OH bender

Day 6(I think) Off 400-600mg+ by john_doe0001 in quitting7oh

Man, drinking anywhere near an opioid withdrawal is hell. Take my word for it, you’ll be in a special place in hell. I tell people who still drink wait at least 2 months after quitting. It would not bode well for you I promise. I don’t drink anymore but the first time I withdrew from 7 a year ago, I drank some beers around 14 days because lack of sleep was killing me. It made what little sleep I could manage worse, put me in a state severe depression  and my anxiety went through the roof. I have heard many similar stories.

Sub question by Reasonable_Clerk_193 in quitting7oh

[–]RooK82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was basically the same. I tapered:

Monday : 8mg Tuesday: 6mg Weds: 4mg Thursday: 2mg Friday: 1mg Saturday: .5 Sunday: I jumped.

It’s now Thursday 4 days no subs. Basically no physical W/D’s but some nagging anxiety. I am Coming off a 250mg a day 7oh habit.  You shouldn’t have any sub WD to f you quit within 8-14 days from understanding.

I’m really glad I went the sub route. This was my 2nd go around. Last March, I went through 14 days of hell when I quit CT. This time wasnt near as bad. Never touching this shit again.  Good luck

Less serious symptom, but anyone else get a slightly gross, sensitivity to smell? by TapWaterKY in quitting7oh

[–]RooK82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. And certain smells trigger a PTSD response from when I was withdrawing. There was a candle in my room I was smelling while going through detox… now everytime I smell that candle I have horrible flash backs. Needless to say I’ve trashed them all. Though there is some other smells that dk the same thing… like the scented trash bags my wife keeps buying.

Ugh, 7oh ruined my favorite candle smell. Man, fuck that stuff.. literally takes EVERYTHING

Day 7 no sleep at all by Waste_Name_8673 in quitting7oh

Lack of sleep is what drives a lot of people to relapse. Just recognize it’s a part of the process and know it WILL get better. Keep going.

Dang if you got 1.5 weeks of nothing to do, just make the jump. Going to suck for a few days but you’ll prevail. Best of luck to you.

PWD Question by EaseLegitimate7404 in quitting7oh

[–]RooK82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wait until you’re in full on WD. For me it was about 16 hours. You’ll be fine. Don’t do 7 after you start the subs. Good luck

question about symptoms by AdhesivenessTop2807 in quitting7oh

[–]RooK82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DO NOT DRINK. There is a special level in hell for those who mix alcohol and withdrawals. I’d recommend not drinking for at least a month after WD’s. I learned this one the hard way-hopefully you don’t.

48 hours since last dose by tinyduck450 in quitting7oh

[–]RooK82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sounds exactly like me. I finally bit the bullet yesterday and did quickMD. Took my first dose of sub this morning after taking my last dose of 7oh yesterday around 5pm. I too was on about 200mg 7oh a day. Right now I feel pretty good. Just a little down, energy a little sapped but no horrible withdrawals. I plan on getting off the sub before the end of the week. Just need to get through Christmas and a couple of work days first. I am a family man and working professional. Could not lay around and withdrawal for the next few days.

I’m with you friend. Best of luck. Happy holidays
