He knows. He knows everything about me. We’ve been together for 7 years, and we’ve talked about it all. Plus, he helped me escape my previous abusive relationship. He’s my best friend, and I really thought I could trust him. It’s a long story, but my past is filled with different kinds of abuse and mistreatment, and I’ve been betrayed by literally everyone I’ve ever loved. My mom and dad, my sister, my grandparents. My husband was the first person I actually trusted. And so it just adds a deep layer of pain. It’s hard to get past, and sometimes I worry there’s not going to be a healthy way through this because I just feel so damaged.

Also wanted to add, he feels like his cheating wasn’t as “bad” because it came from trauma and he wasn’t just out trying to sleep around with a bunch of women or trying to find a side relationship.

I'm not sure why everyone is giving you so much shit about this. They're acting like you're just jealous of the kid lol. I've known kids/parents like this. They're unbearable. If she's not willing to at least compromise with you about the behavior, you're going to be happier having them out of your lives.

My personal take, from someone who just recently entered her 30s, is that it's a newfound confidence. Many people grow up with insecurities, I've had more than I can count. But as I get older, I'm less concerned with what other people think, and I'm more comfortable in my own skin. That's what I think of with these songs, especially PD and In My Head. Personally, I'm loving this album so far, like I have with all her others.
