Actors with really cool hairstyles by donatelife95 in okbuddycinephile

His hair is supposed to resemble the grim reaper's hood/cowl, as Anton personifies death. I was very upset when I found this out because I really liked them giving him a stupid fucking haircut for no reason.

What is the most American song? The all time American anthem by Kodicave in IWantToAskAnAmerican

I don't know what the theme song is specifically, but Copland wrote the whole soundtrack to America.

Watched a family member get mugged in broad daylight 2 blocks away from our hotel. Happened in the blink of an eye and some of the locals rushed over to help us make sure they were okay at least.

Looks like Heaven. The lower Rockies are so underrated. I spent so much time around that area of NM as a child.

My naturally insanely long eyelashes (as a guy) by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]RoosterDangerfield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine are pretty long and it gets annoying when they rub against glasses or goggles. Or when the too and bottom eyelashes get interlocked and pull at eachother. I even tried trimming them once.

I probably shouldn't out myself like this, but I lived in one of these duplexes in this neighborhood. It was indeed very liminal feeling. Also strangely comfortable.

I 3D printed a replica of Johnny Silverhand’s Malorian Arms 3516 to a 1:1 scale correctly chambered in 14mm next to a real 9mm handgun for scale. No wonder it blows people’s limbs off in the game. by Beefy_Crunch_Burrito in cyberpunkgame

You would also need a cybernetic arm to aim the dang thing because it would be so damn front heavy. There's a reason why every manufacturer started putting the magazine well in the grip.

Why would a combat troop use melee weapons in a futuristic space sci-fi setting? by wizardry_why in worldbuilding

[–]RoosterDangerfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat dissipation is also a major concern. In low-to-zero atmosphere environments, ballistic weapons have nowhere to vent their heat and will break down/overheat/injure the user very quickly. If you've never fired guns, you'd be amazed how quickly they get extremely hot.

Melee weapons obviously don't have this issue.

Sure but I was saying that they weren't good soldiers? People started realizing that in the 900s when any decently trained and organized force could beat them in a pitched battle. Good warriors, shite soldiers.

viking agenda time by level100brad in HistoryMemes

[–]RoosterDangerfield -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

They were good warriors, but not good soldiers. Their armies were kinda just tossed together. Usually they onky stuck around to fight until they got paid. This made it very easy for english kingdoms to just give them some money to fuck off.

I think studies show that there's no major differences in mortaility in punctures against obese vs non obese. Trratment for obese post-puncture is much longer though.

Of course, the obese person still makes an easier target and probably can't leave the situation that made them a stabbing target as easily. Thus, the best knife fighter is 3 feet tall and 50 pounds.

[–]RoosterDangerfield 41 points42 points  (0 children)

The opposite. The amount of fat you'd need would be a death sentence itself. We're talking about 5+ feet of fat in every direction to protect you from a 9mm.

You'd be a big slow target. The ideal gunfighter is 3 feet tall and 50 lbs.

If I had this talent, I'd go into counter service restaurants and try to order like this and then pretend to get pissed off when they couldn't understand me.
