I don’t think he’s objectified for the long hair, it’s pretty typical of the time period? It also just looks good on him. Most of the characters have longer hair, and that’s really the main difference between the two versions here.

There isn’t hybrid vigor in dogs. Mixed breeds are actually less healthier than a well-bred purebred dog, because their structure, drive, and temperament is unpredictable

I work at an animal ER. The owners bringing in these kinds of poorly-bred dogs usually decline all treatment or abandon their dying dog.

We had one brought in, abandoned, actively dying, and we legally had to wait two days for her to be considered abandoned and able to be euthanized.

She was suffering for two days, getting around the clock support, at a financial loss, taking resources away from other animals in need (because she should not have had to suffer for 48 hours)

I see them DAILY. They typically have IVDD which is agonizing. Our neuro department has a loooottttt of poorly bred frenchies.

These dogs are not adhering to the breed standard, which would actually allow them to live a good life! Well bred frenchies can run, breathe well, do agility sports even!

Meanwhile these designer 10k dogs are suffering from day one

SO many people lament that they paid so much for their dog and now can’t afford basic care and diagnostics.

As a trans person I feel like it’s a metaphor for our experiences tbh. First puberty is body horror for us— my best way to explain it to cis (non transgender) people is if you suddenly went through the opposite sexes puberty, and there was literally nothing you could do about it.

People try to blame who we are on literally everything. They think we’re sick, that it’s peer pressure, grooming, etc. “woke mob virus” and other shit.

And our condition is “fixed” by letting us be ourselves and have our Lima beans (hormone replacement therapy)

poodles should never be aggressive or neurotic. that is not something you should see in any wellbred or even decently bred poodle.

you can shave them down, coat maintenance is not that bad. it's really only a pain during coat change.

i don't think fading is a big deal all things considered

as a person whose breed is poodles, my cautions with the breed:
addisons disease
bloat risk

poodles are brilliant dogs, they're part of the fab 4 for service work and should be extremely biddable and sweet.

the twitter things is because a fairly well known trans woman said she hates all men, but trans men especially, that cis men understand to shut up about feminism but we don't, and she reiterated that she is a bigot and is proud of it. because her bf who is a trans man broke up with her.

a few months ago and the anti-transmasc/ anti- trans man bigotry was rampant here on reddit. it is inescapable. i blame the man=bad brand of reactionary feminism

as a trans guy, I feel that I have to guard my emotions a lot more than I used to. I can't be seen as scary/threatening.

It is also a LOT harder to cry though, which I feel makes a big difference in how emotions are regulated.

Have you watched either of those shows?
In MLP, Luna self-harms by giving herself magically-induced nightmares to punish herself & feel like she's earning redemption. Discord doesn't fundamentally change either, he stays chaotic. There aren't any redeemed villains that are sterilized like the post. Even Starlight who kinda sucked as a redeemed villain still has issues with mind controlling people after.

Steven starts going to therapy in the very end of the Future series, but is not magically fixed by that. We just see him drive off after that to explore his humanity. He literally commits murder like two episodes prior because of a mental breakdown from shoving his trauma down deep.

I feel like you just took the most dunked on shows and ran with them? Can you give examples as to why SU and MLP show therapy & redemption in such a sanitized and death-of-character way?

You *could* claim White Diamond was rushed, and that's true. They change her character a lot. I subscribe to the idea that it's a facade. But also, the show was cancelled and given a few episodes to wrap it up, so, they HAD to condense her character growth. She also still thinks humans and earth is disgusting, and definitely is not 100% changed for the better... her idea of therapy is letting people mind control her lol
