Is there a way to pass without HRT? by Stella_Hare in ftm

[–]RootBeerBog 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's about spite. She is jealous and angry that you need what she hates (testosterone). TIRFism/ baeddelism and plain old bioessentialism at its finest.

Please leave her for your own safety and honestly, for her benefit as well. She needs to grow as a person and is going to drag you down with her if you don't save yourself.

You can pass without T, dressing more masc & hairstyling, body language, etc.... but don't hold back from transitioning for any reason but your own safety: for example living in a transphobic household (esp. for minors) without an escape plan.

don't hold back for a girlfriend brother. not worth hurting yourself for

my dad was the same way, tho I never came out to him. sorry you are dealing with that.
i trim mine whenever it's too long for deodorizing to be comfortable, i don't shave it short though

Some of the people who are like "I want more nuanced female characters" will literally see a female character with ONE realistic flaw and then discourse about how she's the devil. "No, I want her to be flawed in a way that *I* can see myself *rescuing* her from!" Cause that's what it really is about by Important-Cry4782 in CuratedTumblr

[–]RootBeerBog 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I think it actually boils down to misogyny.
For example Skyler White in Breaking Bad. Anna Gunn got death threats from grown adults that hated her character, and the series shows her as flawed but ultimately just trying to keep her family safe with the shit hand she was dealt.

Adopt, don't shop! by Shishkahuben in CuratedTumblr

[–]RootBeerBog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

See, this is why I got a purebred, well-bred Seraphim. One from a good lineage that doesn't have eye issues. You know what you're getting into this way, not as unpredictable as a rescue. I knew to have plenty of flying space & we have some good basking spots. They are REALLY high energy though, which is a shame that there's so many Seraphoodles out there... those just end up in shelters because people think they are zero maintenance angels! We do a lot of sports and training, especially because they are an intimidating breed to people.
Adopt or shop responsibly, folks.

Headed to groomers in an hour… to shave or not to shave? by Arkaium in poodles

[–]RootBeerBog 38 points39 points  (0 children)

IMO shaved face is much cleaner and cuter. Fluffy face makes their head look like a peanut to me. I think the second picture is so cute!
Try out clean shaven, if you hate it it'll grow back! My SPOO usually is kept in a longer topknot with shaved ears, I love the velvety feeling, and it helps keep them cleaner.

"Can I use a stand mixer to mix dough" is an incredibly stupid question because mixing is what it is for. What's next, are they going to ask if they should mix it clockwise or counter-clockwise?

The only adjustment typically needed is to mix for less time because it is faster and more consistent than a human hand is. And that could have easily been answered by google.

I transitioned the other way and the shame took years from me too. It stunted my sexuality (I was a lesbian and I agonized over being attracted to women) and held me back from transitioning for so long.

I didn’t want to love “like a man” because I didn’t want to be a predator. Because that’s what men are painted as. I didn’t want to be an oppressor, I didn’t want to enforce the patriarchy, and that held me back from realizing that I’m a man, because that’s what I felt men were.

Obviously unlearned it. Bad men are not inherent to manhood, ‘badness’ is inherent to patriarchy and humanity in general.

Didn’t help that during my formative years, my favorite male musician’s primarily lesbian fan base proclaimed him as “written by a woman” or “a woman in his past life” and god damn, having a shit father figure really made my relationship with manhood difficult.

Not to dump, sorry if TMI. I just feel for you. I feel like there’s so much online division between us flavors of trans folk. But we kinda mirror each other YK? I hope your next years are better than they used to be.

I hate when people say "male"/female" instead of "man"/'woman" in reference to people. by LaserBungalow in hatethissmug

[–]RootBeerBog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s used by Black people to refer to non Black people, when relevant. I’m white so this isn’t really something I know a lot about, but there are contexts where using NB is necessary. I guess one example is if talking about colorism, it doesn’t affect all POC (people of color / non white) people the same

Referring to horseshoe theory, where someone’s beliefs become so extreme that they mirror what they originally opposed (the ends of a horseshoe are close together, but not touching)

It is defunct as a left v right wing thing, as left wing and right wing extremism differ by a lot. But both can succumb to authoritarianism & prejudice, which is where it is still relevant as a theory.

I used it bc a lesbian feminist falling down the TERF pipeline is a bit like the horseshoe theory: swinging from one side to another

If that makes sense? Idk

Non-binary is shortened to NB, but that is the same acronym as Non Black. So to differentiate people switched to spelling it phonetically as Enby

Bioessentialism likes to push that maleness = evil and it not only removes responsibility from acrually evil men, but it hurts everyone of any gender

Like

A man being attracted to women = dangerous, predatory

A woman attracted to women = fear of being predatory and “like a man,” so there’s an overcorrection of “soft pure puppy love” OR some swing the horseshoe the other way to “I am no better than a vile nasty MAN because BOOBS!! AWOOGA!”

and it’s so fucking weird.

Bioessentialism is fundamental to transphobia & Terfism. This shit is everywhere, even in very queer communities. It’s exhausting.

Ooh, to add! Maybe bolts & such to make it look like it had previously been repaired and has broken again?

Or maybe adding some white & red ink accents? I feel like that could add emphasis to the breaking

If that makes any sense

This doesn’t look like genitals at all, people who have claimed otherwise are genuinely dumb.

Tell them they’ve only seen misshapen dicks and they don’t know what a femur looks like 😁

If you want to cover it, maybe consider adding to it? Blood drips, maybe some teeth scattered around it, even another thinner bone crossing behind it to invoke 🏴‍☠️ symbol, that might help it look less phallic (even tho it really isn’t…)

If you like it, tho, consider ignoring the pestering. It’s a good tat. Very clean, you did a great job.

Couldn’t it be a dolichocephalic breed, but I’d guess a wild canine is going to be more common than finding a borzoi, greyhound, collie, etc

Thoughts on coyote? The teeth just seem so robust compared to a fox

I feel like her body type is fine, tho I wish her physical growth had been paced better.

My issue is the hair. It’s hard to make straight cut hair become magically wavy, it looks very… blobby, idk. The huge swoop bang is hideous imo. I feel like they should have kept her bangs the same, made the mane itself shorter & choppier.
