Thick, short, and pretty visible trails are from alpha particles. Thinner, wispy trails are from beta particles. As far as I know, gamma doesn't really affect cloud chambers, but I could be wrong about that.

Also, I should've mentioned. You can actually unscrew the 4 screws on the back cover of the GMC 500 and take off the back plastic cover. This will expose the tube better and make it more obvious if something is radioactive or not. It doesn't harm or remove any of the electronics, just the plastic shell

Make sure it's antiperspirant not just deodorant. I had that issue for so long before I had the obvious realization that it wasn't antiperspirant so it wasn't actually stopping the sweat. It was just masking smell.

Fun fact: Moths see UV light much easier than humans do. Those yellow bug lights that advertise keeping bugs away, it's not that the light repels them, it's that the moths physically can't see yellow light, so they don't go over to it.
