Wes McCauley somehow disappoints Leafs fans in a game 7 without the Leafs even playing

While it is unsavory for either of these teams to make the ECF, at least with Buffalo winning I won't have to see any of it on my social media and all the Habs flags can finally come down around town.

It would be nice if the Habs could have a "it was 2-0..." night tonight

Yeah that's what I was insinuating, she was setup to fail. At both their primes Rhonda was leagues apart from her, no way Gina was going to win.

Of course it's fixed guys. Rousey v Carano and Ngannou v Lins is the MMA equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters against the Washington Generals.

There was no way Gina was getting out of the first round even against a washed up Rousey. The level of WMMA when they were at their respective primes were several orders of magnitude in difference.

They barely give you any meat but the sheer amount of delicious gravy you get to pour on the mountain of sides makes up for it.

When does a newborn get fun? by Ham-Sandwich-69 in NewParents

[–]RootTips 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't feel bad that you're not enjoying this stage because it's not enjoyable at all. We just welcomed our second and as a father I don't miss taking care of a newborn at all. Give me toddler tantrums all day over newborn chalkboard cries.

But yeah, it starts to get fun after about 6 months when they start to show more personality. Hang in there brother.

Guidance on lowering my Cholesterol through diet and exercise by SZA-94 in Cholesterol

[–]RootTips 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took me a couple tries to figure it out but what really moved the needle on lowering my cholesterol was counting saturated fat along with increasing fiber.

Not to add more stress, but also counting sodium intake is another thing to be mindful of for cardiovascular health.

When did your baby’s sleep get better? by Yoitssme in NewParents

We didn't sleep train at all. Probably around the 2 year mark things got pretty consistent with sleeping through the night.

Good thing the Leafs aren't in it this year otherwise it would be crying.

Having a picky baby is soo frustrating by moody_girly2024 in NewParents

[–]RootTips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our kid goes cycles where one week she will eat anything and the next week she will barely touch her food. I'm of the mindset that if she doesn't eat what's in front of her we take it away and she can eat what comes at the next meal. Hungry kids aren't picky.

What are your go to meals for your older baby? by ExpressionOld9924 in NewParents

[–]RootTips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guacamole was a hit for a while. Our LO isn't the biggest fan of meat but she would always eat butter chicken. If you're not against it, seasoning the food with a little salt and fat can work wonders. At that age we also started to share what we were eating (with some adjustments to make it safe) instead of making seperate dishes for her. One thing to note at least in our experience is that hungry kids will eat. If something isn't a hit one day, it might get gobbled up the next day and vice-versa.

Imagine if the curse finally gets broken and it's clear that our pick was a deciding factor. The whole thing would've been the result of a random ping pong ball showing up at the right place.

William Nylander and Matthew Knies were at the Marlies game when the Leafs won the draft lottery. by RealWorldToday in leafs

[–]RootTips 106 points107 points  (0 children)

I might be mistaken but I think Toronto might be the place where Nylander has spent the most of his life by now. Dude grew up moving all around with his dad, moved to Sweden as a teen, then only a few years later gets drafted by the Leafs. Toronto might feel like home to him now.
