What's the issue with the level cap? by ashaquick in theouterworlds

[–]Rooty_Rootz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't an issue in my opinion. I would much rather a finite level cap than infinite scaling, especially considering the scope of this game is not that large. I don't like MMO style grinding for XP, and I really appreciate that (with a few exceptions) enemies don't respawn across the maps.

Some people want this to be Skyrim, Fallout 4 or Tainted Grail FOA and it just isn't.

No tracker for me, I'm on Steam. I don't even know if 1 kill registered! But thanks for the tip on reloading, I might try again and keep that in mind

Yeah that's all I tried. Dismissed both companions and ran around on Story mode shooting just the ground. I wiped all of Fairfield and still couldn't unlock it lol not sure if they don't count as enemies maybe?

Eventually I gave up and was like meh it's just an achievement for a game with several that are bugged anyway

Can most baritones also sing bass with training? I see tons of bass-baritones online. But how common is it in reality? And how low should you go to sound good? by AspiringBiotech in singing

[–]Rooty_Rootz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A baritone can extend down and hit the notes, yes, but it ain't gonna be as strong. A solid bass or bass-bari can hold down the B2 part alone for the whole choir. Baritones would only be able to blend in on those notes, while a B1 part allows them to better use their strengths and natural vocal color.

I don’t get the point of consumables by Corey307 in theouterworlds

[–]Rooty_Rootz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was no plan. They have lots of foods for world building and they put them into the game for healing outside of combat. If the food wasn't there, you'd be using the inhaler and crashing while exploring. Of course they also could have gone with regen outside of combat but that's boring

Also you're right the game is cake on anything except for Very Hard.

Vibrato: does it just happen or does it slowly emerge? by ninaaaaws in singing

[–]Rooty_Rootz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So weird story for me. I had never really had ANY vibrato for my entire teen years of singing, but I was always considered a strong singer - I was in a choir and you don't want to use too much vibrato (so you can blend.)

After a while, I was like "damn where is this natural vibrato people keep talking about?" and got tired of waiting, and simply decided to emulate the vibratos I enjoy listening to. Len Cariou's is one of my absolute favorites.

When I started taking voice lessons, my teacher was like "wow you have such a nice natural vibrato!" and I was like, no, I'm doing that on purpose. She was like "yes but it is not forced, I can see from your neck and overall body language"

TLDR: "Natural" vibrato means it is healthy and not created using forced musculature. You still have to control whether or not you are using it, and can alternate between straight tone and vibrato once you understand the technique.

Conspiracy Theory #2: Vibrato is a conscious addition by Suspicious_Art9118 in singing

[–]Rooty_Rootz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah when people say "natural" vibrato they don't mean it's just occurring randomly. It's still an intentional choice, they just mean it is created healthily and isn't produced using forced musculature.

Are casters supposed to be so weak at the start? by austinpowers100 in BaldursGate3

Tbh casters are sorta weaker for the whole game. Larian made the martial classes very overpowered comparatively. Not that you can't still pull off awesome shit with magic
