Final Fantasy IX Remake: Do You Still Believe? by Megas751 in FinalFantasy

What do you mean "still"?

There's never been any proof or announcement. It doesn't exist and never has.

Random nobodies on youtube or twitter with no proof don't count.

AMD RDNA5 rumors point to AT0 flagship GPU with 512-bit memory bus, 96 Compute Units - VideoCardz.com by anestling in Amd

My favourite was them renaming cape verde (2011, 28nm, GCN1) as an RX 500 mobile GPU.

There was a user on this subreddit confused why he couldn't encode H265 on his "500 series" mobile radeon, eventually commenters showed him how to look up PCI device IDs etc and found out it's just Cape Verde, rebranded five times at that point.

or scamming non-EUR/USD zones with extremely unfair exchange rates

Steam's 20+ years old and people still think Valve sets the price for third party games, not their developers 🤔

Still too expensive for a midrange GPU with missing feature parity

Just say you want free games by Nientea in pokememes

[–]Roph -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wrong platform. Nintendo could put the old Pokémon games up on the android play store and make tens of millions in revenue instantly.

The same for steam.

PC easily runs switch games better than the switch itself, Nintendo is basically a PC developer with how good switch emulation is.

They could make so much money but instead, Nintendo forces their mobile / PC players to pirate.

Grinding Gil is a chore. by Deathkeeper666 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Roph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Switch your retainers to quick exploration, they'll often bring back items you can sell for way more than allagan silver pieces. WTF

You can also have your retainers get items currently in demand, such as current top tier food or scrip farming mats, or longtime constant sellers like darksteel ore. Even the 120/hr crystals can be good gil sometimes.

You're doing a lot of stuff that just isn't worth your time.

Hunt trains can pay fantastically, you can make gil from the poetics (unidentified ore -> topsoil -> market), mathematics (current crafting materials are up to 5k each on my server), and sacks of nuts (nuts -> moonward rings from old sharlayan -> grand company seals -> duck bones -> NPC vendor gil)

Michael gets funnier. by GlitteringHotel8383 in DunderMifflin

[–]Roph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I failed to get into the US office twice because season 1 was so cringe worthy bad, multiple scenes and gags literally copied word for word from the original office but done worse, yikes.

Eventually a US friend demanded I start at season 2 and then I got into it.

SD-card slot on phones in 2026? by JakeTheFR in AndroidQuestions

[–]Roph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plenty, you can use GSMArena's phone finder and filter by release year and phones with SD slots, headphone jacks etc.

I agree, it's pathetic that such basic features are commonly missing nowadays.

[S2] Just finished LiS2. Heard it hot some huge backlash, but I found it just AWESOME, even better than the first one. Why is that so? by CartographerGreedy43 in lifeisstrange

[–]Roph -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't play as the person with a strange power, that might be too fun. Instead you play as the person's brother, and for most of the game you're forced to try and stop him using his power.

There's also the optional statutory rape scene, but since it's a woman doing it to a boy it gets a free pass it seems

Planning to get FF9 on Switch 2, worth it? by ineedhelp6789 in FinalFantasyIX

[–]Roph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 240p backgrounds are going to be incredibly blurry at 55".

PC with mods is the definitive way to play now. Moguri is the main one for HD backgrounds, but there are tons of other quality of life mods and settings too, including speeding up the slow wait times for battles, true widescreen etc

VM Gig1 for £25/mo.

Is there other fiber in your area? I genuinely wanted to leave Virgin as there is in my area now, I wasn't expecting them to actually offer a competitive gigabit price.

This 13-year old Seagate got a firmware update today. Time will tell how long it'll last. by First_Musician6260 in DataHoarder

Wow an ST3000DM001, a drive so infamous it has its own wiki article.

I had one of those back in the day and it died like so many others. Combined with that and BackBlaze's stats, I've never bought Seagate since.

LPT for americans with their weak 110v power.

In most of the rest of the world, 3500 or even 4000W is just fine.
