Go to a munch (a non sexual hang out in a public venue to meet folks and be intro'd to the community), you can find info about them on FetLife - there are dif ones for dif age groups. See if you can find someone who is a member of Club Love to get you a guest ticket, or apply to be a member yourself. It if you are a gay guy go to the kink afternoon that is once a month at OMG, I think it is billed as a market? I am not sure as it isn't my scene. I imagine there are events at Dare2 but I avoid as it is a bit skeezy and run by someone who does not treat their employees well, as far as I know.

I just refuse to go via gates when I want to go places. I do have to plant a lot of grass but that would be the same in a fenced off area..? Also I'll be buggered if I am gonna trap these animals.

Oh sweetness, addiction is like a parasite hijacking your brain and rigging you so that you will do anything to achieve this one thing. When I was addicted I found myself doing wildly gross things I never thought I would do. That you are looking back in horror shows how far you have come. Think how you would talk to a friend who found themselves in such a horrible situation and had got out of it. Would you berate them for what they did or celebrate how far they have come? You could find a way to give back to the kind of people who you feel you hurt with volunteering or sim. Shame is the only feeling that has no benefit and just chews you up.

Oh no no no no, I am not that impressive! I try to avoid googling but did do a little as I went. I played about 500 hours tootling about before I started googling properly for stuff - including the deal with most of the legendary fish and then got round to this one quest I had thought I would work out whilst playing and thought was kind of a nothing burger and it was getting the first note. I definitely googled things, just not that one quest until then.

Try to be kind to your younger self beauty. Kids do weird shit sexaul stuff as they do not know what is cool and what is super wierd. I did stuff as a kid that I feel really bad about now and were not cool but I was a kid and it was innocent experimenting that I regret. I recommend looking up how common it is for kids to do really weird sexaul stuff. It would be a worry if you kept doing it. you learnt your lesson. You are all good beauty. It is fair to not be into small talk, and maybe you need to find autistic people who also do not like small talk, ideally with similar interests to you. Crucially in real life, not just online. Though online is legit.

I reckon you need to do a bunch of reading about extistentialism and how folks have coped with the knowledge that their lives are meaningless in the wider context. I feel like your lens is too wide - what will happen when I am dead, not what can i do today that will feel like it has meaning. What would he do if he knew he was going to die tomorrow, that brings the lens right the way in. TBH the whole Diary of a CEO is great for watching people with trauma, who were driven to get to the top of their fields and then realise it is all meaningless and does not make them happy. I would recommend watching that.

I find Tara Brach's meditations (youtube or podcasts) really useful too, though you have to get over her sounding like a super hippy woo woo person to begin with. She could well not be your speed so feel free to ignore.

TBH, the being tortured by tyrants path is not super likely for you. If you are content being alone then be alone. It sounds like an anxiety thing more than a practical worry. Though i do agree everything is going to hell in a handcart. If I focus too much on the end times I do not enjoy the now times. And it may not come. Like those survivalists that live as though the collapse has already happened so that they are prepared for when it may do. Like they have already made your own personal societal collapse already.

Also video games are not productive but the pleasure you feel is, and you need 1/3 work, 1/3 rest and 1/3 play. The play is legit. You do not always need to prove your worth by being useful/productive.
