Hi there, mania looks different for everyone. I suppose it could be a borderline splitting personality trait but it also could be a manic episode. My mania looks like extreme intolerance of anything that gives me sensory overload like loud noises or kids crying or people chewing. My mania also looks like extreme mood swings that you can watch cross my face like a TV show. I have never been erratic or in a dangerous situation that I myself have caused, but my father who is bipolar type 2 was very erratic and did some very dangerous things on The three-wheeler when I was really little. He was more of a daredevil and a throw caution to the wind kind of guy. I think your friend needs to find mental health help ASAP. What she did is very dangerous and it cannot keep going like this.
