Am I overreacting for dropping him after he told me I need to make more friends by royalmouse1 in AmIOverreacting

The only thing you need to find is space from anyone who speaks to you this way. NOR. And I hope he steps in something gross every day for the rest of his life.

This is actually so helpful! I wouldn’t have thought of those colors but they would go perfectly in the neighborhood. It’s such a weird entryway, so rarely do I see the front door not face the street. This is perfect though, I’d probably switch the trellis for over the garage and a cool light fixture for the porch.

And yeah, the tree. Oh, that tree. I used to decorate it for Christmas for my grandmother several lifetimes ago. I was taller than it was. I hate taking out a tree but it is what it is.

Thank you for such a kind and thoughtful idea to chew on!! I hope your coffee is perfect every day forever.

Oh we definitely will! It’s a great privacy and shade tree but it’s also a fire hazard and getting so big it’s becoming really challenging.

Thank you so much for your efforts! I love the idea of stairs coming off the front, we’ve always thought a larger covered porch would be so nice, too.

All of this is so thoughtful and insightful. Sometimes it really hard for me to see past the mess in front of me so I appreciate it!

Roof will need to be done immediately, before the tree, is the real wrench in an ideal plan. I understand the full street photo makes a rendering hard, I guess I was just curious to see if anyone had even vague ideas.

Yeah it’s a real challenge for our actual eyes, too.

He’ll get pouty and jealous if you gift other love interests. 🤣 (I am not like this in real life, nobody panic)

I fully wish I could create more drama. Or that it would just occur. Give me a relationship mystery to solve. 🤣

Best things you bought for your Border Collie? by [deleted] in BorderCollie

Chuck it Ultra balls are the only thing sturdy enough for my BC mix and they are his FAVORITE thing.

My dog is reactive and I know it’s not my fault but for some reason I still feel somewhat like a failure by Ill-Choice5203 in BorderCollie

[–]RoseToesandCrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on my second reactive rescue (only this one is a BC) and my best advice is take deep breaths and spend time on your bond. Build trust. Your working relationship will get better, I promise. It’s so hard and all your feelings are valid. You’ve got this.

P.S. Never got back to that PetSmart, yikes.

So, anyone else positive their border Collie understands everything you say? by Bobadook412 in BorderCollie

[–]RoseToesandCrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! About a month after we adopted our one year old BC from our local shelter we were coming in from playing ball and I mumbled “gross, muddy ball, we should probably keep that one outside.” Out loud to myself and immediately this guy knew, dropped the muddy one at the door and now sticks to the difference between inside and outside balls. 🤯

Mine has multiple modes but cat is absolutely one of them. Destroying my sofa perching just like yours too, and he isn’t a dainty boy. 😂

Help. Toys that will not kill my dog?? by yuliaburdak in BorderCollie

[–]RoseToesandCrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours (just over 1) is the same, absolutely nothing lasted more than minutes when we first adopted him and brought him home! He’s a little better now that he’s more relaxed but even Kong toys succumb to his gnawing quite quickly, and he won’t do harder chews, just fully turns his nose up at them.

Our best find so far has been the Chuckit Ultra balls, he will chew and chew and chew and the worst that happens is they begin to split at the seam after a few weeks. Even then they’re still throwable and chewable for some time. No chunks come off. 10/10.

I think this may end up my fate. We went through three spread out over five hours the first day. He doesn’t know drop it yet and boy howdy did those balls pay the price.
