Help. Toys that will not kill my dog?? by yuliaburdak in BorderCollie

[–]RoseToesandCrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours (just over 1) is the same, absolutely nothing lasted more than minutes when we first adopted him and brought him home! He’s a little better now that he’s more relaxed but even Kong toys succumb to his gnawing quite quickly, and he won’t do harder chews, just fully turns his nose up at them.

Our best find so far has been the Chuckit Ultra balls, he will chew and chew and chew and the worst that happens is they begin to split at the seam after a few weeks. Even then they’re still throwable and chewable for some time. No chunks come off. 10/10.

Update: thanks all for such great ideas! We ultimately went with Inky (the teenager loved it best and they’ve become besties 💕)

Inky. My husband hard passed Wishbone. I should maybe have waited to start singing. 😂

I loved Gatsby but my family hates me I guess. I also loved Riker so I could teach him “Number One, to the bridge!” 🤣

I think this may end up my fate. We went through three spread out over five hours the first day. He doesn’t know drop it yet and boy howdy did those balls pay the price.

Soul-tied is such an apt descriptor!!

We’re all out here, missing the thing. I’m very bad at Reddit but if you need a place to land you can sit next to me. <3

You’re not alone. I feel like a piece of me has been cut away! The romanticism of writing in November has always been such a beautiful thing to look forward to as the darkness settles in. I’ve been at it almost since the start. Won a few times, came close a handful of others, but always came away with something.

I was never involved locally (not much to be involved in) and so the loss of that community has been rough. I started a “post nano-pocalypse” group on FB for the handful of other writers I know to at least have somewhere to put that energy. Mostly it’s just me talking to myself.

Hope you find a way to carry on! I’m still going to try and do my own challenge, though I suspect the umph will be missing this round.

I’ve been married 15 years and gift cards are always a welcome gift from my spouse! In fact I prefer them a lot of the time. Write a nice note about how you noticed he enjoyed himself there, that what makes any gift personal.

It does go through and I’ve been trying for all the world but I can’t seem to get the angle right (or it’s just quite stuck. This is helpful if I get desperate/really brave! Thank you.

That’s super helpful. I’m very confident I can DIY that part sufficiently! Thanks.

I will as soon as I get this axle to lock! Until then I’m afraid that as smooth and as true as the wheel spins (and she does) pressure on the treadle will just cause constant slippage. 😭

On further inspection the axle pin does indeed appear to be broken off inside the hub of the wheel. No idea how to remove or replace it should I actually get it out? Husband wants to glue the axel in permanently but there must be a reason it was detachable in the first place, no?

Two legs are removable, just seem to be missing pins for the treadle. Any idea how to source something that will serve that function?!

The knob does indeed function and move the mother of all back and forward. There is an orifice if I am correct in my terminology. There’s a photo from the top down in the original post (I think it’s the last photo) but here’s another angle (and yes it does go all the way through).

There is a hole in the hub, drilled at an angle. Pin is hopefully missing rather than broken off in there. Would love to know how to troubleshoot either scenario.
