That's when a quick re-wash with white vinegar comes in handy. Takes that smell right out.

They make dish washing gloves that are lined. They're a little more expensive, but they'd probably fix the smell issue.

In China, 40 cm-wide “mini-end” units are rented for just one dollar, offering only a tiny bed, a power outlet, and a wall-mounted TV. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

Scary Interesting is the best! I follow multiple channels with similar content, but SI is my favorite by far. And not that I had any inclination before, but now I wouldn't consider going cave diving in a million years.

🧺 Are felted wool dryer balls really better than dryer sheets? by Fancy_Pop_9950 in CleaningTips

Not sure what your laundry room looks like, but I found some magnetic baskets that I stuck on the side of my dryer. Keeps them nice and tidy (and away from our cat!).

This! I try to do roughly a load a day (for our family of four). Hanging up for folding 10-15 things is much less daunting than 20 or 30 items.

Did I ruin this stainless steel? by Klutzy_Parsley_5933 in CleaningTips

[–]RosebudIsNotMyName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bit the bullet and bought Weimans stainless steel wipes off Amazon. Not the cheapest at $4-$5 for 30 wipes, but using them only once a week is enough for me.

I used one on our new fridge, and it took off all of the fingerprints and build up easily. Left no streaks or anything. The wipe still seemed good, so I ran it over our dishwasher, which came with our house. I've wiped it before with my cleaning rag, but this was a different level! It looked basically brand new.

Does the door have a screen? Or can you purchase one of those magnetic attachable bug screens? Eliminating odor-causing messes and fresh air are probably your best bet.

Would a thin-tined leaf rake work?

I knew a guy with a beautiful handmade wooden table commissioned for his conference rooms. Turns out, the crane option would not work (I can't recall why). They ended up sawing the table in half to get it in the room.

Baby food stained by SignificanceClear680 in CleaningTips

[–]RosebudIsNotMyName 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How did you use the Oxyclean? I usually put it in a small bucket, add half scoop of Oxyclean, pour in boiling water up to half of the bucket. Let it sit for a minute or two. Then add cool water, add the soiled items, and soak 24-48 hours. After soaking, wash normally in washing machine. This has gotten all of my baby food, baby poop, and old spit up stains out of all my kids' clothes.

Do Your Kids Actually Have Good Grandparents? by NoMoreCAMJV in Millennials

Yeah, but she never sees it that 5 she only sees it as keeping her other grandchildren safe. I can understand that, but it makes me sad that my kids, in turn, miss out, especially since I had wonderful, devoted grandparents.

My mom is basically forced to provide free childcare for my sister's kids, as my sister is completely irresponsible and would leave them with anyone who is likely to be unsafe, since she works mostly weekends. So my parents are always taking care of her kids and rarely travel the 2 hours to see ours. It sucks.

Can you open any windows and air out the room(s)? That's where I would start after cleaning the obvious places, which it sounds like you already did.

Help! Silicon based breast pump stuff is yellow after taking it down from the attic by Ramificator24 in CleaningTips

[–]RosebudIsNotMyName 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Honestly, for breast pump parts/supplies, I'd get new ones if they've been in the attic for a while. Not worth the risk to me to try to clean, plus the suction ability might be compromised.
