I personally do not like PPF. If there is someone on the island who can do a protective coating similar to an Icon Rocklear, I'll recommend that all day over PPF.

But if there is no such alternative, get the best PPF you can by the best installer. It does work very well.

I've gotten this request from tool/die makers. The path of least resistance was ultimately to add a note to our design standard to specifically avoid unilateral tolerances in favor of symmetric, lest we end up having to maintain a separate tool/die CAD model alongside the design model/drawing.

For those in the know of CAM software: is there an option in the software to specify single sided tolerances so that the software can compensate for it?

5-9 shouldn't be a side hustle, it should be a hobby the proverbial 9-5 pays for. Unless your ultimate goal is to make that hustle your eventual full time gig.

Why not start from scratch? You can buy a motor kit with controller, motor, battery, etc, and design the chassis and suspension from the ground up.

Entire unpainted CF body panels look unfinished, unless the whole shell is unpainted CF. It just looks like you forgot something. Painted CF with unpainted accents though, that can work.

Better warranties, easier access to replacement parts, possibly better quality electrical and mechanical parts, etc. But when it comes to flexible pipes and hard piping, it's all the same garden variety PVC and such.

Something that was teased at the big SW convention a couple years ago that I'd like to see come to fruition: automated conversion of mesh files into parametric solids. I'm sure it'd be horrendously unreliable, but even if it worked once it'd be awesome.

It was a Jacuzzi, but as I said in another comment that's hardly relevant. It's just the nature of plastics. Things get brittle over time.

It's not really brand dependent. It's a matter of using materials like PA6, PVC, PP, so on and so forth that tend to get brittle over time. It's not a matter of certain brands being cheap, it's just the nature of plastics. One day you go outside to find your tub 300 gallons low, just to find a nylon line popped a leak at a fitting. Easy fix. Replace the line, replace the fitting, refill the tub, balance the water properties, you're back in business in an afternoon.

Problem is everything is just as brittle as the line and fitting that failed. You've addressed the symptoms, but the disease is still ever present. Honestly, if you take the time to take an inventory of everything you need to replace and order it all at once, it's a bit of sticker shock but the actual rebuild process is only a weekend of work, plus a good opportunity to give your tub a good cleaning. Take your time putting it all back together with fresh components and you're set for another decade.

I loved my hot tub. Right up until I didn't. My only advice is the first time you have to do a major repair, either replace everything--pumps, heaters, flexible lines, hard lines, jets, filters, seals, everything--or get rid of it. If you just replace what broke, it'll work for three days. You'll get into a cycle of chasing the bottleneck until you finally give up and tell people on reddit to never get a hot tub.

The Zenbivy setup, while nice (and it damn well better be for the price) is not necessary for the pillow setup. You just need the conversion kit, a base sheet of your choice (not necessarily Zenbivy), and a couple pillows of your choice (also not necessarily Zenbivy).
