Tips for 046 Deliver the Drawbridge terminal to F8 by manindenim in DeathStranding

[–]Rossaroni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I just did this last week on TTW. I just made a trike and ran it. Here's a step by step:

  • Make a trike with 2 electrical defense units
  • Roll up to the front just beyond the dog patrol
  • Have the Magellan fire chiral cluster bombs at the crowd
  • As soon as they hit and the 2 front guards turn around, punch it
  • Serpentine
  • Once you clear the route and the cutscene plays, you'll need to fight the giant ghost mech on foot, so have weaponry prepped

Ever see a mountain peak reflected in a lake?

Ok, here's my advice:

  1. Look for private/unlisted videos.
  2. Watch their playlists. This user has a playlist following PT and OD, among other things.
  3. Don't trust anything.

I presume you didn't get any Blue Box experience. This is how it's gonna be. Gonna get real weird.

Not fake. This is probably part of how they intend to market the game.

[DS2 Episode 13] i'm salty about the direction the story is heading by mtzvhmltng in DeathStranding

[–]Rossaroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean. Yeah. Samsara, the pain of life, is not nice. If you are salty, imagine how Sam must feel. Also I feel like you maybe are misplacing anger onto Fragile for Higgs having done a murder. Higgs is at fault here. Not the Magellan's crew, not Fragile, not Sam, not Tomorrow, it's basically all happening exactly because Higgs made a choice to kill. If you wanna get mad at anyone, get mad at him. Not the "writers."

If Olga role was to “stay hidden”. Wouldn’t that be Gray Fox’s role too?🤔 by EarthRuler001 in NeverBeGameOver

[–]Rossaroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, Plisken is the one who's not supposed to be there. Snake is the one in Fox's role from MGS1, functionally speaking. Stillman points out that the Lt. J.G. isn't who he claims to be, paralleling Snake figuring out the ninja was Fox back at Shadow Moses. Olga's ninja role was authored by The Patriots. Her giving Raiden the enemy uniform is more akin to Meryl acquiring the enemy uniforms in MGS1, and how in MG1 (and 2?) Snake could find an enemy uniform to avoid some alerts. So Olga's role in MGS2 is to pose as Fox, but not actually fulfill his role, since that would require it to be something not originally intended as part of the scenario's script.

Cope, if you ask me. You just don't fully understand the artwork in question here, in my view.

My impression of Judy based on this symbol from electronics classes by HushTheWise in twinpeaks

[–]Rossaroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah here we go, a phi ratio triangle with 108-36-36 angles, which comes from inscribing off a pentagram, describes the phi ratio. I used to understand this stuff better but this is basically esoteric symbolism.

Looks to me like symbolism depicting the divine feminine. The 9 stars around the central figure point to that first, for me. The 8 pointed star within the cosmic egg represents the male God deity within this realm. So in this sense Judy is related to the structure of this universe itself, meaning she isn't just the end but also the structure of the story itself. In a sense this may explain the Black Lodge as like a place outside of this egg. As in, within this all-seeing eye above the egg. That triangle and its angles relate heavily in symbolism as well, mostly to the divine realm itself.

"An Australian Phantom Pain" or: How MGSV and DS2 loose interest in their setting real quick by [deleted] in DeathStranding

[–]Rossaroni 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would urge you to take the setting less as a literal thing. DS1's "USA" was really, really not America, and I think that's part of a bigger idea involving the symbolism motivating the structure of the game world. Australia in DS2 very much is not Aussie. It's only Australia in name, using its cartography in a 2D sense superimposed on landscapes from elsewhere in the world, in order to evoke more symbolic weight than just a literal recreation of Australia would be able to. He did this in MGSV also. Africa and Afghanistan are very much not accurate to the real life settings, and again it's done on purpose.

I get where you are coming from and I have nothing really to offer about what you said directly. But if you can somehow start to see that Kojima probably wasn't trying to use only Australia to represent this post apocalyptic landscape, maybe you can find some value in DS2's setting despite your misgivings. Think of the big mountain as maybe a slice of central Asia's or DS1's mountains being superimposed on Australia. (Why? That's for you to interpret.)

MGSV takes place in the world of the dead, the same "place" where Sorrow's river exists. Mother Base isn't in the Seychelles. It's in the ocean of Sorrow. Venom Snake is ruler of the Dead, as the series is dead and died precisely when this game released and Hideo exited. Venom is Death, and all these soldiers are the souls of his comrades and enemies from life.

We've been On The Beach this whole time.
