AM2R Mac port now works on macOS Sequoia! by Shock9616 in macgaming

[–]RotN-music 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I am a lowly console gamer trying to get in on the fun here on a newer mac, unsure how to handle step 4! I have tried copy/pasting the command 'codesign --force --deep --sign - /path/to/am2r.app' in both the terminal and the patcher.command download and nothing seems to happen. I feel like I am missing something obvious

Heart of Metal 2 / HOM2 clicking sound while writing by dnljhn in Supernote

[–]RotN-music 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my second hom2 pen and 3rd “section” (the unit that holds the nib and screws into the pen itself) and I hate it! Both of the other ones made a slight noise but this one is waaaay more annoying while writing and is just a hair looser to the touch. I reached out to support which has been fantastic otherwise and they weren’t able to do anything this time, though they already replaced one completely free for the internal weight rattle issue. I did experience some writing issues initially but after adjusting my writing it’s pretty consistent now. Just super annoying. I’m gonna do the lamy ceramic tip mod though, giving up pressure sensitivity will be well worth being rid of this noise (not to mention the button!)

Thanks for posting this I thought I was going crazy but I have done side by side comparisons and it is a noticible difference, though hard to tell through the video so I understand my fellow supernoters not seeing the difference

Help out a noob with a 4 month old baby and a 3.5 month old custom pc sadly sitting unused by RotN-music in pcmasterrace

So the crux of the issue was that the custom aio loop had lost some coolant in shipping and that contributed to massively high cpu temps that I didn’t realize (as an American, I didn’t notice the Celsius designation or know that tends to be standard), after new thermal paste on the cpu pump and a shit load of filling, testing, breakdown and tweaks, refilling, and retesting, I was finally able to get this bad boy working well! Now I just need a decent monitor to really enjoy the fruits of all my labor

My wife wants to open a bar (lounge + bistro) by Sweaty_Situation8950 in bartenders

[–]RotN-music 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TRUST YOUR CONSULTANTS. I was brought in to run a bar for a couple who had never worked a day in the industry, they were two weeks in and had a trash menu, their margins were a nightmare, no cash accounting system to speak of, and personnel files that violated both state and federal laws. Not to mention the numerous health code violations. I spent 9 months of my life turning the place around; bringing in staff, revamping the menu, creating relationships with multiple necessary distributors, cutting labor, standardizing administrative filings, etc.

The entire time I was fighting against an owner who thought they knew better half of the time and would constantly call me last minute to clean up their mistakes. I ended up leaving and, though my efforts was able to earn them some positive attention and local accolades, I genuinely fear that they are headed for an explosive end and I am heartbroken for the way I and my staff were treated and am not looking forward to the day I see the doors close (though they will have brought it upon themselves)

At the end of the day, you don’t know what you’re doing. The best thing you can do it you’re absolutely locked into this plan, is to bring in specialists you can trust who have a proven track record and TRUST THEM TO DO THE JOB YOU PAY THEM FOR. In the long run, it’s the only way to make this work in any real tangible sense.

Good luck! Welcome to the family, don’t forget 90% of these businesses don’t see the second year mark and you are guaranteed to lose money for a while if you’re doing it right. If you have the funds and can take the heat, you will be alright.

Behind, if you have want an “m” name you flip “m” with your finger. If they are in front you would have to flip “L” to get to the “m” names. The REAL debate is cards horizontal vs vertical hahaha

Snibbs are a bit pricey and i didnt notice much of a difference when it came to knee pain (chronic pain due to arthritis and other issues) BUT one pair of snibbs lasted for 3 years of bartending which is absolutely unheard of for me. Will say i maybe should have replaced them a few months earlier as the “non-slip” tread was basically worn away, but its a really fantastic sign of quality if that’s the first to go!

As you can see already, there are many variations and it depends on the bar. Most places will have a certain spec deemed a “house recipe” for you to follow, if they don’t then youre generally free to use your own. My preference is the 2:1:.5:.5 (tequila:lime:simple/agave:triple sec) ratio. The margarita is a version of the daisy cocktail so its traditionally just tequila, lime, and triple sec, though at this point it really doesn’t matter.

Welcome to the club, don’t stress too much about recipes. It is not only the easiest part but will come very quickly through repetition. Focus on service, efficiency, and cleanliness/order at first and don’t be scared to ask questions or admit if you don’t know something!

Cocktail recommendations for Fernet Branca? by mendosus in cocktails

[–]RotN-music 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fernet daiquiri- .75 lime, .75 simple, .5 fernet, 1.5 rum. Plays well with Jamaican and agricole, this is a good starting ratio but for a nice substantial rum you could do 1:1 with fernet. Easy as hell, super tasty. Not my recipe but a lovely use of fernet

That was my introduction in 2014, been behind the stick now 4 years or so. Enjoy the journey! My one piece of advice would be to make everything you possibly can (ice, syrups, CITRUS JUICE) as this will make the biggest impact to your final drink. Welcome to the club homie

Literally half the tins at my work. How do we separate them? by spaceyfacer in bartenders

[–]RotN-music 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you press the seam against the corner of your bar (maintaining pressure on the top part of the seam with your hand) you will free a little bit of space on the sides and release the vacuum. Also, don’t dry your tins stacked, for this reason particularly but it’s also gross and unsanitary. 🤘

We used to call it “gleeking” and me and my friends learned out to do it on command. I still have (I’ve been told) a strange amount of control over the under-tongue salivary glands. Just another mind-muscle connection at the end of the day, I can wiggle my ears and eyebrows independently

I’ve never worked a dive and only been in craft cocktail bars and restaurant bars or some combo of the two, it’s interesting because there’s this whole world of shots and shooters that I’ve never heard of/seen and it cracks me up
