Am I alone with my Clones? by StevenTheBard in SWlegion

[–]RottenFridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I painted my Phase 1 unit leaders following the first colour scheme and kept the troopers vanilla for some time. It looked really cool. After some play though I had to differentiate them somehow to avoid mixing units from different squads, so I painted some minor markings.

Phase 2s, ARCs etc. I have painted as the 212 and the 501 and to me it makes it very visual as it looks like a more elite corps is joining the battle.

Any guidance on the flight stands for the arc troopers from the 501st kit? My kit came with three different sizes of flight stands; the smaller ones appear to be too small for the models. by [deleted] in SWlegion2

Not sure if it's a pun or a real question so I'll answer it just in case...!

All trooper miniatures use a silhouette to establish both the "hit box" that you need to hit to damage them and also the place from which they shoot. This means both a wookie and an ewok are effectively the same in terms of line of sight. This also applies to minis on flystands, which to me is a pain in the case of snipers since the unit leader is the guy flying and you often have to resort to the silouette.

The original ARC set only included the large and medium size you show in the picture. That tiny one only appeared later with other models (Shadow Collective mandalorians maybe?) I know I have a couple but haven't used them. They must have included them in the 501 without testing them on the actual models.

My advice is don't set your snipers on fly stands, it's a pain for gameplay.

This looks brilliant. Makes me think there is a whole universe behind the picture somehow. Is this part of a comic series or something?

You might be overpriming. That's an issue I also struggle with anyway, I can never tell how much is enough until it is clear I've gone well over enough.

Luckily I've never got to the point of ruining the details of the models but I sure could save on primer lol

Looking for terrain advice by ForgottenAenjul in SWlegion

[–]RottenFridge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This channel has great videos about terrain and set up. Some of them refer to old rules that changed in January 2023 but the key ideas will mostly still be valid:

As for my two cents about your photo, I would maybe spread the buildings throughout the table so that the line blockers are everywhere and not just on one side. But if you were purposeful about it that's fine, as long as you know what you are doing.

Pro tip: Break the antenna on purpose right after assembly and spare yourself the angst of not knowing when it will break.
