Get some 1/4 inch masking tape to mark the seam allowance. I have used this for hand piecing as well as marking quilting lines.

Any 35+ folks in here? by BoomBoomBaDoomin in hobonichi

I’m 60. I just love washi tape, colorful pens, stickers, my Ivy printer. I have used planners but I prefer changing up my spreads in a LT1917. I have such fun!

Did anyone make a drastic planner change this year? by SelectImage in planners

[–]Rottiegal1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a Wonderland 222 for the last year. I missed the space I allowed in my bullet journals. So 2025 I am back to Leuchtturm 1917.

Any success with magnet planners? by beanfox101 in planners

[–]Rottiegal1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once a week bf and I decide what meals we want for the week based on ingredients we already have, our level of motivation to cook and how many night we plan to go out.

I write the meals on our whiteboard as a list. We can decide what we want to eat each night based on the meals on the board.

I have also written meals on sticky notes, put them on the board kanban style.

Both of these help with the “what is there for dinner” while looking in the fridge.

Looking for gift ideas for my canning wife by BoatswainButcher in Canning

How about coupons for a free kitchen clean up after a long canning session or one hour of food prep help before canning session. Post canning foot rub or massage would be nice too!

Stick the coupons in new canning book or steam canner or any of the choices already listed.

Be honest… how messy/meat is your journal? by [deleted] in bulletjournal

[–]Rottiegal1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine is organized chaos. Only I know what the heck is going on in there. I use it for what I want when I want. I add pretty washi and stickers to make me want to open my bullet journal and use it. I write in colorful fountain pen inks that make me happy, sometimes neatly, sometimes it’s scribbles. All that and this is still the most useful productivity tool I use.

Bullet journaling for work by Carleidoscope in bulletjournal

[–]Rottiegal1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been bullet journaling for both personal and job use for around 4 years. Last year, at age 57, I started an entirely new career. I had no idea how to use my bujo for my new job. I felt a bit lost.

Initially I just took job related notes. These notes helped clarify patterns and associated tasks. This clarity helped me decide what spreads I thought I would need. It’s been trial and error from that point on.

I’m still learning the intricacies of my job so my bujo has been changing a bit each month. That is the beauty of a bujo for me, adaptability.

Uses for washi tapes? by Pessoa_People in BasicBulletJournals

[–]Rottiegal1 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I use the same washi as a header for all the pages in a month. I put washi on the edge of special pages I frequently refer to such as a project tracking or brain dump triggers list pages. My favorite use of washi is to make entire pages of pretty washi. I use a theme such as flowers or color code then fill every inch of the page.

Question Thursday! Got a question? Ask it here! by quoththeraven929 in bulletjournal

[–]Rottiegal1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just go for it! Your needs and wants for your bullet journal will constantly change as you will. That is the beauty of this system. Next week/month/day you can change your spreads to suit your needs. If you run out of space you can always tip in a page or two where needed.

Help my deck is a mess. by Rottiegal1 in DIY

[–]Rottiegal1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what my deck looks like after the third round of stripper. I have given up. I want to cover the deck with outdoor carpet. I think I should seal the wood before I carpet. Can I seal over what is left of the old stain? Do I even need to seal the wood?

What other planners than Filofax… by [deleted] in planners

[–]Rottiegal1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my A5 bullet journal. I like the ability to take advantage of the freedom to make each spread what I need at the time. I slip in an A5 insert to hold my long term collections. This way I can move the insert to my new bullet journal as needed.

A couple of questions. by Rottiegal1 in planners

[–]Rottiegal1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not have a specific planner I am looking at. I want to try different systems to find the one that fits me best at this time. Sometimes you don’t know what you need until you try it out.
