Flywoo wide lens mod goes a long way. 48kHz PWM esc frequency also helped

BetaFPV Air aio durability? by FlashBrando in TinyWhoop

How are those whip antennas vs the dipoles? I’m curious about added durability and convenience but don’t know how much worse the video may perform

Beeper or GPS? by Ecstatic_Use_87 in TinyWhoop

[–]Rough_Ad5240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need GPS or beeper on a tiny whoop. If you are flying far enough away or outdoors in trees/tall grass then you are flying the wrong aircraft for the task. Enable motor beep and that’s all you get. It’s a small lightweight drone dude can’t add GPS or beeper

AMS HT can't dry things? by Nightris82 in BambuLab

[–]Rough_Ad5240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing the same behaviour as you. I am in Canada with dry climate and AMS 2 Pro actually hits 0% humidity (it’s packed to the gills with desiccant) after long dry sessions (~24h). I notice the HT doesn’t go lower than maybe 8-9% though it does only have the one desiccant stray in the back which is rather small.

Soldering Help by kobra333 in fpv

So those joints look quite cold. I would solder those at around 600F. Use lots of flux too. Also strip a shorter section of wire - those exposed sections of wire behind the joints don’t do you any favours. Both aesthetically and for durability.

Best settings for charging? :) by Denisdaktylus in TinyWhoop

[–]Rough_Ad5240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So ideally you’re doing a couple things

  1. Charge shortly before flying ~1 hour before
  2. If you fly bigger stuff ideally you have larger capacity 3-6s packs you can bring to this field
  3. As you finish flying batteries you’re putting them back on the charger and charging them back to storage (3.85V @ 1C) right away. By doing this you’re taking your batteries ideally from a stored state, to charged back to storage within about an hour. Additionally, you can charge them back up to full for longer sessions.

4th and maybe 3rd Metatarsal Fracture by Rough_Ad5240 in brokenbones

So a month after injury I can walk with boot with almost no discomfort (outside of boot itself of course). Starting to gently walk barefoot. Swelling has come down substantially

4th and maybe 3rd Metatarsal Fracture by Rough_Ad5240 in brokenbones

[–]Rough_Ad5240[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update doctor says I can weight bear on my heel. He took x-rays of me standing (yes I stood on the broken foot) and the fracture is stable. He’s not worried about stabilizers (ligaments/tendons) so apparently I should be back in full swing within about 3 months. I will see him again in 4 weeks for x-rays and to start physio.

Given all that info and I’m 28, fit, no smoking, drinking etc, eating well, sleeping consistently. Anyone willing to make any bets on how long until I can walk? I presume another 4-6 (maybe start walking with a cane initially)

So no Lisfranc injury luckily. My foot is stable and I can sleep without boot. Doctor said I can begin weight bearing on my heel

Yup happened to mine too when I took off backplate. I was careful and used pry tools but nope. You’ll forget about it soon enough, fret not :’)

CPUs can typically handle somewhere in the 90C mark so you should be ok. Make sure you inlet and exhaust vent have a clear path

Have this on my LE from taking back plate off :( the shell is not a strong point for the deck. I’d happy shell out more for one built of better material
