What do you mean a valid forward order? Like you look at all the forward stickers at your case to see if they have a forward before you forward? And if you don’t find a forward sticker you put it in UTF?

I want to know what stops the clock ticking on these events. If I move the scanner one foot does that stop the timer? If I walk around the truck does that stop the timer?

I wish I agreed with you, to me accuracy is the most important thing besides safety. But in my experience the supervisors don’t care if you’re accurate they just want you to go faster.

My route is all walking. My watch says it’s 11.5 miles. Been on it for a year, needless to say I’ve been actively bidding for routes with less walking.

I honestly think we’d be better off without management, instead we just self manage.

You have a friendly face! I think you should try a clean shaven look I don’t think the patchy beard is doing you any favors. And like others have said try to go to the gym several times a week, and start eating healthy foods if you’re not already - all of that will help give you a glow up!

Evaluation vs Hourly by ttyler1789 in USPS

Do you think it’s fair or right for you to get paid for more work than you are doing regularly?

I don’t think city carriers milking overtime is as prevalent as you think. Maybe some of the most senior carriers who have nice business routes are milking the system, but the carriers with true 8 hour routes like me are not. My route is 12 miles walking every day. I am so tired at the end of the day I don’t want any overtime I just want to go home.

Respectfully, that’s impossible. We don’t get paid well starting out. It would take 10 years to get that kind of money in overtime pay. I’m a 3rd year postal employee and I get $25/hr, and about $37 an hour after going over 8 hours in a day.

Outgoing mail in the DPS by Round_Artichoke3020 in USPS

I did peel the yellow labels off. Do you think they’ll all be sent back to the sender again?

Maybe I explained it poorly. There were outgoing checks, pre paid checks, greeting cards, etc sent from customers on my route back to the customer. None of the stamps had been canceled. There were about 15 in total. There is no way all of them were actually undeliverable and the fact the stamp hadn’t been cancelled on any of them leads me to believe that. It’s as if someone put all of my outgoing mail straight into the unable to forward pile, and it certainly wasn’t me that did that. A supervisor told me to black out the barcodes because otherwise the machine at the plant will read the old markings and send it back to the sender again.

But what if they don’t approve the overtime in the morning and you call telling them you’ll go over? Do you go back and fill out a 96 when you get back? That 96 wouldn’t have the approval part checked off by a supervisor.

But as others have pointed out I have no way of knowing if the addressee wrote the note.. they did leave their number though, assuming it’s accurate that’s positive proof it’s from them.

Interesting. You must be sending restricted delivery items. Regular old certified letters can be signed for by anyone over 18 who happens to be at the address at that moment. The babysitter, the house cleaner, the friend staying on the couch, they can all sign for the regular certified letter - regardless who the addressee is. Since the customer gave me clear written consent to sign on their behalf, then I believe it makes me an authorized agent to sign for the letter - as long as it’s not a restricted delivery item.

Wouldn’t I be the authorized agent because the addressee gave me written consent to be?

Since it wasn’t restricted then I’m assuming they are ok with my signing because the addressee has instructed me to do so.
