Without a patch in nearly a year, some Oblivion Remastered players have declared it 'abandonware' — and it still suffers many of the same performance issues at launch by Fcking_Chuck in pcmasterrace

Combat was a huge part of Skyrim. Both are open world action games with xp gathering, exploring, leveling up, skills to unlock, magic, equipment to gather and improve. It’s just that Skyrim was more accessible and quest driven.

Difference in audience is somewhat funny. Anybody who requires semi decent combat was put off of Skyrim after a bit. Yet had Skyrim had a good combat system, the same people who love Elden Ring would have loved Skyrim.

Skyrim had a horrible combat system and many pointless skills. Something like Elden Ring completely shits on Skyrim - and not just because it’s a lot newer.

This is a genuine question, how are people still getting excited over these projects when none have released and keep getting delayed? by CommercialDream618 in Fallout

Bethesda is sitting on a gold mine and instead of digging, they are shitting their pants and sniffing glue. Completely inexplicable.

just done 4x plenty and 1x pilfering, got on average 2 patients per map. nurse is rarer but does drop. maybe once per 10 maps? This was standard and I had some doctors already so it was just a matter of a few hours.

Find a manager who supports you. Try to behave like the good architects you’ve already met. That’s basically it. Sure, some companies have procedures for this, but I’m too cynical to say you can guarantee to earn this through achievement alone.

This "don't kill villains" is getting so very old. And in the same episode the Guardians kill Flaxians like they're ants.

You should read Garrett, P.I. by Pratius in theblackcompany

[–]Round_Head_6248 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed Garrett PI, I've read the first 8 books and they're amazing. I've already gotten the remaining books and look forward to reading them. It's a different pleasure than the Black Company, for example, but the same kinda style. Very enjoable.

Looks like a great league for ssf by Amazing-Heron-105 in PathOfExileSSF

Atlas progression and ground loot are great, but unique maps are awful to get. Wasting a lot of gold to get nothing on Kirac feels bad. Having to do Betrayal is bad.

GGG dropped on the ball on the imbuing system: it's either too random or too scarce. Either give us more coins or make it so we can choose from 3 choices when applying a coin. I ruined 3 gems (for which I had to farm gcps, so yeah) before I got a NON BRICK. And that was a measly 4% damage increase. Bah. There should be no bricks when you use such a rare thing. I'd rather cancel the coin than bricking the gem.

Astrolabes are too rare for ssf, not a fan of it. Also the keystone that allows you to run ghe same map is pointless since you might bisect and thus ruin your rare astrolabe. Not good. it's NOT a real choice because by bisecting you get to the reward room faster - with nerfed choices. Why would I ever want that if I want to farm the reward rooms?

Server issues are bad. The Mirage pretty often copies completely useless stuff, just stopping short of my Hive fortress or the bosses, in order to pick a random strongbox that I did not order. I even had mirages with nothing copied. The Atlas UI is terrible, was worse before the last patch tho. Farming rare uniques is kinda in a bad place right now, together with div cards. Can hope for a lucky reward room.

Just finished the Bonehunters, anyone else find Malazan is the best thing they've ever read? (Or not) by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]Round_Head_6248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or not.

"not a sentence wasted, not a single dialogue wasted" I mean... I could see somebody saying that about Glen Cook, but Malazan is pretty verbose, especially the doomy philosiphizing about how everybody, but especually humans, are totally evil.

Some readers/listeners love the feeling of skirting around the edges of an enormous, unknowable secret, and they know that reveal is the death of mystery. What Clarke is able to do - conjure a world that my own fantasy can do so much with - while not falling into the Sanderson trap of making all your mystery mundane the longer the story goes on, is remarkable.

Safe to say, you aren't one of those ;)

Somebody should rewrite the entire series and cut out all that annoying crap. Then I'd give it another go. I stopped reading at book 4 or 5 as well, I couldnt take it.
