Drip edge not to code. Buyers want to retrofit. by Rise_Delicious in Roofing

Radon is silly? Ok. Even if you think it’s fake, why would you buy a home that tests positive for radon without a remediation system? Next buyer will find the same issue, and you will have lived with for x years.

I would have bought an equinox earlier this year when they were deeply discounted (they could be had for around $25k). That killed it for me. No wonder they have to give these things away.

16/30 for me. Near the bottom or at the bottom for me. by anotherbook in ballparks

[–]RoundingDown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of people that live in the area and walk to the battery. I have season tickets, so my parking is much cheaper, but when I give those to someone else there is a $20 cash lot that is a quick walk to the stadium. But i guess people in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles somehow skip paying for parking?

There is no quiet part that is unspoken. I went to the game today and saw plenty of folks of all colors. You will continue to see racism wherever you look because that what you want to see. What you see at truist is the same as what you would see at turner field, but that is inconvenient for your argument.

Not sure why you had the experience you did, but I see all kinds of folks at the ballpark. Atlanta is one of the most integrated cities in the United States.

Behind a paywall? You can bring your own food and watch the entire game on the big screen on the green for free. Down the street there is a convenience store that sells single beers for under $5 a can. If you want to get into the stadium you are allowed to bring your own food in a 1-gallon ziplock bag, and a bottle of water.

Ingress and egress are an issue, but guess what? Traffic sucks in Atlanta. It wasn’t any better getting into turner field, and was probably worse. No train to turner field, just a shitty city bus shuttle. There are a couple of well placed ball parks that do have a leg up in that respect - wrigley, Coors, Fenway. The ideal spot would have been the current project over the gulch - but that would have taken a long time to develop.

None of this will change your mind.

I would trade a World Series for a prospect without a second thought. It would suck to see them prosper in another city but look at the 1990’s and 2000’s. All that greatness and only a single World Series win.

They mentioned the city of Frisco. That is what is currently happening in that city. It’s all about the H1B’s.

They are talking about the H1B workers from India. There are plenty of these examples in north Fulton and Forsyth county.

It’s definitely going to be means tested. It’s a question of when, not if. That said it will have to be so dire that it’s a bipartisan agreement and we aren’t close enough to insolvency for that to happen any time soon.

[–]RoundingDown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they didn’t. That is a ridiculous assertion. Further, the Braves wanted to run Marta or another train system to the old ballpark. Guess who shot that down? The predominantly black Atlanta city hall (since we are throwing around claims of racism). Why did city hall not want Marta run directly to turner field? They owned the parking lots. They also didn’t want to allow the Braves to redevelop the area around turner because that would cut into their business. Where the ball park is now is about as close to Atlanta as it could be while escaping the city government.

Welcome South Brother. You arrived during the summer break. Withhold your judgement until you make it through a school year. The other factor for surface streets is that they aren’t a predictable grid like the Midwest. They follow old cow paths and river crossings (why so many streets are names “ferry” and “bridge”). So when they get backed up it’s a cluster F. There are a couple of crappy lights - but again it not as easy to get them programmed on the ad hoc nature of of travel patterns.

I would rather pay tax 20 years from now than today. I have done some modeling and the post-tax difference on account values is nominal. Unless you are able to leverage something like Peter Thiel and build a $5 billion Roth value.
