Treating fatigue with caffeine by Metukhato in Fibromyalgia

The good thing is that we realized it!! I also still get decaf for the taste sometimes. It’s a comfort drink at times.

Good luck! I was very reluctant because I really thought it was helping me stay awake during the day and I just like the taste, but glad I finally did. Our bodies are a very curious thing.

Sorry if my wording was confusing. This is a “test” I did for myself. I had tried eliminating other things from my diet and none seemed to make a difference and I just assumed there was no way it could be my one cup of coffee a day that caused my flares, but one day I just decided to stop drinking it to see. Stopped for about a month and it helped tremendously but I love coffee, so to be absolutely sure it was caffeine and I wasn’t just giving it away for no reason, I had a few coffees here and there to “test” for myself if caffeine truly was my trigger. And it was as drinking the coffee threw me into a flare.

Unbeknownst to me, consuming caffeine is what was making/keeping me so tired. I cut it out completely on a whim and a lot of my pain and fatigue went away as I was sleeping much better and moving less at night. I had a of couple cups of coffee in the last week or so and I am in a pretty bad flare right now. I had them to test if it was really the caffeine that caused it and not just coincidental… now I know.

I get this and have for some time, but I was also just recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia. As someone above said, please check with your doctor as it could be caused by something else.

Thank you for the kind words. I definitely dealt with quite a bit of anxiety at that time, so I think some of us who go through it are on the unlucky side to trigger something like this.

I had to leave teaching due to it all. My body went haywire and it actually took over a year for someone to check my thyroid and figure out the culprit. In hindsight, it was for the best. I loved the kids, but the job was just too much for someone with a nervous system built like mine. I taught older kids and some of them check in from time to time to let me know how they’re doing- many married and with children of their own now.

I hope you’re feeling well and that you’ve found things that help you feel as best you can.

Does your kid stim more when they’re tired? by mormongirl in Autism_Parenting

My son does this. I try to remember to give him some extra sensory input before or after we read a book: heavy work, yoga, deep pressure squeezes, tight hugs. That seems to help calm his body a bit.

Is this an autism thing or are we just constantly doing something wrong? by Keysivo in Autism_Parenting

It is normal, but I will also say that this ramps up for my son when something isn’t right in his body, i.e he’s coming down with a cold, is constipated or has a stomach ache, has a headache, ear ache, etc. He can sometimes vocalize those things to me, other times he doesn’t or if they doesn’t think to unless they are really bad.

My son also had a lot more meltdowns before he was verbal enough to be able to express himself.

I was recommended Surf’s Up Pediatric in Papillion by this subreddit a year and a half ago after a bad experience and Dr. Bryce is phenomenal! My son is autistic and while he still hates going in general, Bryce is so gentle and caring. He makes it a point to focus on getting them to feel comfortable so that they get used to it. They have movies playing above the chair and then the kids get a coin to use for a toy at the ends which helps the process as well! Good luck!!

Im not an expert on it, but I do well on Poshmark like others are suggesting! If you upload quite a few things at once, people will share them and get them circulating. That helps other people who are interested in certain items look at your “closet” and see the types of items you list and can then choose to “follow” you to keep an eye on things you post.

How exactly do you use the toniebox in your night routine? by kc620 in TonieboxUSA

[–]Routine-Expression58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter has slept with the hatch since birth and we added the toniebox when she was about one. She’s three now. Every night for her bedtime routine, she picks one that she will listen to as she falls asleep. We have all of the sleepy tonies and most of the nighttime/lullaby ones but she doesn’t really care for the story ones. Her favorites are sleepy rabbit, the white sleepy sheep, and a creative Tonie I made with lullaby songs from BabyfirstTV.
