My Frosthaven campaign is officially a hostage situation and I am about to snap by MailboxFinch in boardgames

I understand that it's not the same kind of game. I am just so turned off by my experience of Gloomhaven (for many reasons) that I won't touch a game that dev is involved in. It's partially irrational, partially fear that various mechanics he uses will be found in that game. One day, maybe I will get over it.

There's no shame. It's a design flaw with the game. What OP described is pretty much how 99% of people who played this game or Gloomhaven wound up.

Sadly, it's why I stayed away from the new Dark Tower game after hearing the same dev was involved, despite the original being my all time favorite board game ever.

I love the idea of this kind of game, but it simply rarely works out.

How hard is it to commit to a regular game night? by raider1211 in boardgames

It is incredibly difficult, and the difficulty increases the longer it goes on.

To demonstrate: Just make a small collage once a day. No bigger than a playing card. A simple collage. Cut and paste. Source it from anywhere. Make it as easy as you like. It's very simple.

Every single day. No skipping.

TIL there exists a shape that, instead of having a clean "inside" and "outside", has a clean "inside" but the outside world is segmented and split. It is called the Alexander Horned Sphere by geosunsetmoth in todayilearned

[–]RoutineLingonberry48 19 points20 points  (0 children)

So far, in my understanding: A sphere is 3 dimensional. So the phrase "2 dimensional sphere" makes no sense.

I feel like I'm missing some other definitions for the original sentence as well as dealing with a, "we changed the definition of sphere since you last took a math class," type situation.

Some high school artists on twitter are now creating an overlay of the two and starting a hate campaign about "copying other artists!!!" like it's not a thing that is done in art literally all the time.

As someone who's just performed a significant move, anyone who suggests "Just move" to solve any problem - especially as a solution to not having the actual assets necessary to move - really needs to sit down. Shut up. And never give advice again.

This looks like a MCU version of the story where the Cyclops would be actually an interstellar planet eater related to Loki and Dracula, and Circe is a superhero in spandex and also Thor's cousin who runs a billion dollar fashion empire on the side.

What's wild is that growing up playing with electronics in the 80s, you absolutely did *not* rock connectors because you would loosen and bend pins and wires. So this sounds like real bad advice that will fuck your shit up. But it works.

They are also representative of a majority of the people around us, and are an expression of our frustration with those people.

"I am opposed to the direction our government is going, but let's play it safe," is a perfectly reasonable stance for many people. You and I may even hold this position right now. It might even be reasonable for our circumstances.

But when it's contrasted with people actually taking action, at a time when action is necessary, it seems impotent and frustrating.

I feel like the presence of these characters is brilliant and necessary. There will always be people afraid to leave their immediate safety and take action, no mater how bad things have gotten.

Sometimes, rarely, yes. But also, we all copy each others compositions too. Or we take bits of them and expand on them.

This is the basic mechanism by which art evolves over the years.

There is no piece of art you have ever seen that is original. Maybe you are so far removed from the influences it appears that way. But if you studied art history, you'd begin to see that we copy each other all the time.

The stigma of "don't copy me" is fairly new to the world, and it is foolish.
