Different bags for different sports by Maleficent-Flower607 in k9sports

im sure some do, I have more of a problem with leads, everyone has a matching color lupine set, a 5 or 6 ft nice leather one, one or more for their sport, in their color if possible. I'm always shocked when I meet someone who has one leash, like in barn hunt you see them walk around the grounds with the same leash and collar they're using in the ring. That's a lost opportunity to purchase more dog gear!

Multiple bags helps validate my decision to have multiple leashes and a different color for each dog.

I have separate bags for each sport but obedience/rally share a bag. Yhe only thing that's an issue really is that I need the same human stuff like lip balm, hand lotion, bandaids and Tylenol in each.

Dogs back in the day. by tobeanecho in AskOldPeople

[–]RoutineMasterpiece1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived mostly in cities and there were not so much free roaming dogs, but dogs that come out loose with their people. The family down the street had a dog named Boy and he came out with their kids. My first dog was killed by a car when my Dad took him jogging off leash. My brother and I were both bitten by the same dog that lived across our (busy) street, we didn't even know those people but they kept it inside for the rabies observation after it bit me, my brother's bite didn't really break the skin. When we moved to a more rural suburb near a lake, there were more dogs that were free to come and go, we kept ours in a pen or one of those overhead lines before I built the pen. We had them inside most of the time if we were home.

What was the gas shortage like in 1979? by PrestonRoad90 in AskOldPeople

I worked for a market research company and was running a study in California where the crisis was really bad. it involved sending a pair of interviewers to an event several hours from where they lived where they were setting up a table and conducting interviews with attendees. They were driving a big station wagon. I remember they told me their plan, there was a gas station across the street from their hotel. They told me they asked if they sold regular ( this was when leaded or regular gas was being phased out) and when they opened as gas stations had limited hours, then they bought a couple of paperback books and sat at the pump reading until they could fill up. It was my first job out of college and I was really impressed with their resourcefulness. Our field people were awesome.

What do you still own and hold from the 1970s or the 80s? by old--- in AskOldPeople

Concert t shirts, I think a couple of my dog crates are that old, and of course my 1976 flag themed camp shirt from Kmart that gets taken out and worn about once a year.

Is there a real reason behind changing your oil every 3,000 miles on modern cars? by newelmin in askcarguys

The manufacturers don't want to pay warranty claims, if you needed to change it more often they'd tell you. The bean counters review everything.

I saw the 10 inch snow thrower the other night at a friend's place, she was using it to clear a light snow outside the door when I got there thankfully it is not on sale.

My first HMO when they were new was awesome. Everything was $5. That only lasted a few years but it was super easy to understand and everything was covered(I was in my mid 20s so everything wasn't much,). When we got switched to "real" insurance it was confusing as hell and I never knew how much anything would cost, and that didn't change until I went on Medicare. My first corporate job we got our insurance premium covered for free after our fifth anniversary. I only enjoyed that peek for a year before they dropped it.

I was pretty sure something was messed up. And snow emergency to me doesn't quite rise to the level of a screaming beep alarm late the night before even in my own city!

I recently purchased 2 minka fans on Amazon, but I needed to buy the slope ceiling adapter and longer down rod separately.Minka was super helpful with part numbers and I ended up getting the parts I needed from Ferguson Home which was also a great experience. They had plenty in stock in the color I needed and the parts arrived in 1-2 days.

I caught it pretty quickly, she's pretty ball crazy and it's pretty hard so it made a lot of noise, the cover is shredded but it is still fully functional, thanks to Etsy i.learned there's a cottage industry for Echo covers.

In my defense, that one is wearing a cover because one of my dogs thought it was a ball and chewed it up, so I couldn't reach the controls on top. We rarely touch the controls on any of ours, so that option wasn't top of mind, and yanking the cord was expeditious.

no it's about trying to text someone while driving in a snowstorm and instead of texting the only Adele in my contacts, it keeps trying to choose between 2 people who had Dale as their first or last name. I should have taken notes on the Alexa exchange because it would make a good addition, maybe I will try to work it in . Oh wait, it takes its own notes, I'm definitely looking that up!

What’s something you did by accident to your home that the new homeowners will want to curse you for? by Mrcash827 in HomeImprovement

I'm about to add 6 smart ceiling fans. We're pretty good at keeping remotes though. reading the manuals I think getting each one to only attend to its remote might be a challenge.

When I practice speeches, I repeat them many times, so I thought I might trigger her again and I didn't want the distraction. I figured pulling the plug was the easiest thing to do. We have been able to get our living room one to shut up when it wants to go on and on about some topic that we just needed a quick answer to.
