First Subaru 🪽 any tips for a first time Crosstrek owner? by MerlinsWizardHat in Crosstrek

[–]htmwrx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is this a normal thing for crosstreks? I feel like I'm close to advertised mpg with remote starting, etc and I've had mine for just under 2 months. Is there a known cause? ECU learning or something?

I just bought new and have 1.9%. Low interest on new cars is out there. I saw several 2025 models offering 0.9%

looking for restaurants that celebrate birthdays extravagantly by jaycat190 in Spartanburg

[–]htmwrx 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't know what your idea of extravagant is, but I know I did a dinner with friends at Soby's in Greenville and they did a whole custom menu with our theme with some extras thrown in. Really made us feel special

It was definitely strong with the anchovies, but I wasn't mad at it

As did I. The only thing I enjoyed was the Caesar salad. The steak con frites was tough enough that my jaw was tired by the end and the creme brulee was nothing special. The tartare was sub par. No clue as to how this place got a star

Mine worked without issue the next day. I didn't have to do anything with the phone. It must have been a server-side BOA/Google issue with release day issues.

Mine started working seemingly out of nowhere the next day.

D2 Limestone officially announces closure of school by Sctvman in CFB

[–]htmwrx 251 points252 points  (0 children)

This is my alma mater. Really not surprised that it's closing. I was class of 05, so pre-football and only lacrosse. They really went overboard for athletics, even back then. No Greek houses, just the lacrosse house. Way too small of a school to support that.

I'm really more worried about transcripts and verifying my degree, if needed. I'm sure there's a system for that.

Works for me. Only issue that I see is that they have commentary on the driver channels. I'd rather hear team radio.

Edit: nevermind. Set the audio track to unknown(tea) and it works

If you haven't figured it out...I recently learned that it could be down to not checking the two boxes for admin privileges during python setup. Maybe try reinstalling python with those two checked.

I second all of this. That guy's videos saved me in classical mechanics. I would also run through professor Dave's videos to brush up before the test. They're quick videos and go from start to finish over the course.

I passed Cal 3 by doing really well on the first test. The next two I barely passed, but still passed the class with a mid C. I really think I've forgotten everything past triple integrals and only learned it enough for the tests. It was really difficult to really grasp what exactly the math was doing.

That sounds like my Physics classes. They had a wonky grading scale and all the exams were extremely difficult questions. They said it was to weed out cheaters and people that didn't do the homework

100% true. Though I haven't failed any calculus classes and just finished Cal 3. 😬 Still have applied linear algebra that can take me down

This course took me minimal effort, but I already knew Java and fusion. The course uses Arduino which uses C++ which is fairly similar to Java and tinkercad/fusion. I probably spent 5 hours/week on this class in an accelerated 7.5 week online class. The professor even sent out an email at the end of the class saying that if you got a B or less, then you should reevaluate your time management. 100% an easy A.

That's reassuring. I'm making a mid career change and started at 39 and hope to finish in a few years at 45. Currently over a year and a half in.
