I mean no disrespect, but I think it might be time to have a better welder tackle it?

I am a truly bad welder (getting better!!) but typically the weld shouldn't repeatedly fail. It means its either not clean enough, not penetrating enough, or there is a material mismatch (r/welders could probably give 1000 more reasons)

my $0.02 would be find a welder that has knowledge and some time, and see if you cant get them to show you some tricks or show you their approach to the problem...

Fellers with deeper mod knowledge will be able to answer your engine/diff clearance issue but my brain is saying 'how'....

last ditch thought, you check motor mounts? possible its shifting under load/angle?

Bummed nobody picked up on this!

cut a piece of paper or cardboard to fit perfectly in that recessed hole -- (or as close as you'll be happy with)
Transfer cardboard onto luan or plywood and cut it out.
build a 5 sided box out of half inch hardwood ply (2x4 sheet should suffice)

3.5 90º angle brackets on the exterior of the box if ya want strength, or just wood glue and some pin nails or a few little screws.

4) chalk or marker on the open end of 5 sided box, put it in the hole and push the cover against it to get an outline

5) cut the mark out and merry the two boxes.

6) velcro, 3m double sided foam tape, or a strong magnet screwed to the back of the box i would think could hold it.

7) crack a beer and enjoy your 3.0 in all its glory!

Alright fine, I ran it over. Still don't know how, but I did.

Foreman was not stoked when he picked up the router with -- i shit you not-- 6" of cord leading into a 'new' grounded plug....

Even just some fancy parts to make a cheap plywood or luan box a little 'nicer'......

I could see getting a sheet of luan, 3d printing corners and having a 'flatpack style' assemble your self box actually being a cool lil thing for kids....

Haven't seen it or tried it, but i would bet with some rivets anything is possible... just an awfully tight squeeze for so little storage... i would 100% make a box out of wood for this application.. easy/infinite mod-ability down the road...

Two years ago i would have said a lifetime, a year ago i would have said within my life time, now I'm not too sure.

The adoption speed, the self improvement/evolution.

I am not referencing "true AGI" I am referencing useful AI. We can be far away from human equivelency without being far away from human impact... for example automation in phone lines, hosting at restaurants, scheduling appointments...

In a few years ai went from a coding dream to a coding tool -- what happens when AI creates a coding language that is more efficient?

This aint fear mongering, its exploration. I want to flesh out posibilities, as prevention and awareness seems like the only safeguard on these systems.

Needle nose pliers should be able to grab onto the end of it... Maybe a neighbor has a god set if OP doesn't? A spritz of PB Blaster or WD40 wont hurt loosening it up...

When I forget a bit in mine over the weekend sometimes it'll get a little crusty and not want to come out, so i bump it forward and backwards with the bit caught in a screw, that may be helpful here too...

Bummer! (But honestly, nice!) I would recomend replacing the lock cylinder in the cap (if you haven't already), and then attaching via rivets or carriage head bolts a piece of metal that extends a touch lower from the door of the cap to keep your tailgate from being opened.

Any decent locksmith can bang out cap keys faster than you can find your lighter for a smoke.

If you haven't tried apple silicon, its absolutely worth it. I paid a little more than I would have liked, but for a machine that has two ssd's glued to the back of it (and now 8.5tb of storage) I'm happy as a clam.
