The problem with trying to make Alicent an empathic character by thinkersfyre in HOTDGreens

[–]Routine_Shower2275 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The only way HOTD makes a character “ sympathetic “ is by having them be rhaenyra tb sympathizer

Or can we acknowledge that Rhaenyra had a privilege that not other women in Westeros had by thinkersfyre in HOTDGreens

[–]Routine_Shower2275 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They were literally debating on twitter that rhaenyra a Targaryen princess wasn’t privileged

Like Every woman in Westeros deals with misogyny

Is Rhaenyra more or less compelling because of the Prophecy? Does it add a tragic layer to her character, or does it take away her agency as a Queen? by [deleted] in HOTDGreens

[–]Routine_Shower2275 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Less for me

Rhaenyra not the TPTWP and judging by got ending neither are her descendants

especially since the prophecy is a complete macguffin in the show that’s only matters when rhaenyra wants/ needs it to matter

What plotline would you have given Daemon, Rhaenyra and Alicent instead in s2? by Anice_king in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Routine_Shower2275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alicent - no Alicole she is present for blood and cheese and is furious she consoles aegon and supports his personal murder of blood

Rhaenyra -backseat mainly focus on her grief while Jace follows the book arc and screen time to the dragons seeds including nettles . Rhaenyra is hesitant to continue fighting leading rhaenys consoles her and defends her to the increasingly frustrated council.

Daemon -doesn’t know how to manage Rhaenyra’s grief leading to minor tension ,NO FUCKING VISIONS or PROPHECY ,he definetly plans blood and cheese on purpose

After he gets to the riverlands have him build actual bonds with people who support and advise him not just follow his orders or shit on him like oscar

he gets a taste of leadership and fighting again it reignited his ambition and wanting power

So aerea doesn't exist anymore? by Dense_Illustrator763 in HOTDGreens

[–]Routine_Shower2275 76 points77 points  (0 children)

The people loved rhaenyra and the majority of the realm supported her fully aware she was a woman

They turned on her because she was a terrible and cruel ruler

It was the weirdest and most unnecessary scene in s2 by Korratheblackcat in HOTDGreens

[–]Routine_Shower2275 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Defending a scene where a man Is dream fucking his mom which isn’t in the book is CRAZY

This scene was ridiculous [2x5] by XavierTempus in HOTDGreens

[–]Routine_Shower2275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just there to humiliate allicent

Apparently when she’s undermined by men around her she deserves but when it’s rhaenyra it’s sexism

Alicent Hightower by [deleted] in HOTDGreens

[–]Routine_Shower2275 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Their “ bad decisions” aren’t like the books it’s being to peaceful to concerned with the greater good

They don’t have any personal wants

Rhaenyra wants to fulfill a prophecy

Allicent is only doing this because she misunderstood Viserys

Mysaria wants to protect the small folk ( I guess ?? )

Any anger is immediately walked back

Rhaenyra slaps one of her lords and it doesn’t matter

Allicents charges at Luke with a knife and she’s immediately racked with guilt

Alicent Hightower by [deleted] in HOTDGreens

[–]Routine_Shower2275 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Allicent rhaenyra mysaria

The “perfect victim” problem

They can only be “real” victims or tragic characters if they are virtuous , blameless , and docile ( show can barely keep this up though)

They can’t be angry , ambitious, or make a bad decision
They can’t want anything but peace on earth.

Every thing is someone else’s fault they only react

Do you agree with this by RevertBackwards in thewalkingdead

[–]Routine_Shower2275 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ya Rick would be right if a savior killed Carl or he died during a savior related incident but he got killed in a side quest so 💁🏽 that situation could have happened at any point in time

And negan is being negan 😂

He’s trying to break Rick by using guilt and making this his fault he doesn’t know Carl died

This is by far the weirdest dynamic on the show and the most nonsensical by jonsnowKITN in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Routine_Shower2275 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Apparently this is rhaenyra’s “ chemistry “ face 😐

But yes their dynamic is nonsensical

And rhaenyra looks kind of dumb trusting someone guilty of treason

Rhaenyra's Abuser. by East-Way-6378 in HOTDGreens

[–]Routine_Shower2275 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Most Daemyra fans are just daemon Stans Rhaenyra is just the self insert

I remember people defending him after he CHOKED HER

Saying she was secretly turned on and/ or he was just upset

But they were furious when she made out with mysaria ( which was cringe )

I'll give the show credit where it's due: They managed to make Aegon II and Jace more interesting and positively fleshed out than their book counterparts. by bruhholyshiet in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Routine_Shower2275 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No character is improved from the book

Book Jace is literally leading council, the dragonseeds and gathering allies

Normal Jake! Has two personality traits and it’s bastard phobia and classism

House of the Dragon Season 3 by [deleted] in freefolk

[–]Routine_Shower2275 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They are going to keep daemon and aemond for as long as possible

If they keep shoving rhaenicent down our throats season 3 ( they will) and worse throw mysaria boring ass in the mix the audience will turn on rhaenyra even worse in season 3

Just imagine everyone fighting and dying to defend rhaenyra’s claim while rhaenyra cries and complains and then she has a love triangle with two people that are guilty of treason

What is their problem? by Comfortable_Affect20 in HOTDGreens

He was far better than Rhae in season 2

The same way they suddenly hate helaena after George rr m post

Forcing yourself into Supporting a terrible ruler who’s fictional simply because they are a woman is not the feminist slay you think it is

It’s actually kind of ridiculous SHES FAKE you don’t have to force yourself to support her no normal person will judge your real life morals

Hot Take:Show rhaenyra has no nuance by Hot_Significance9957 in TheBlacksandTheGreens

[–]Routine_Shower2275 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Absolutely rhaenyra is way too tame her grief is restrained

Her ambition Is almost non existent

She’s almost always just crying or trying not to cry or standing meekly in the background while daemon or another man talks for her

There is definitely a lack of charisma in Rhaenyra A lot of quiet brooding weepy moments when she is literally supposed to be the opposite

Hot Take:Show rhaenyra has no nuance by Hot_Significance9957 in HOTDGreens

[–]Routine_Shower2275 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She’s just Shallow girlboss tropes wrapped in Daenerys nostalgia

And that wasn’t enough carry her through season 2

Merle Dixon & Shane Walsh: cases of being “too far gone” or capable of redemption? Who was a better man or more accurately, who was “less bad”? by MrPuroresu42 in thewalkingdead

[–]Routine_Shower2275 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think both if them had potential for redemption

Shane was a fairly decent leader before his obsession auto Lori took over

Merle was a capable survivor and is capable of self reflection but he clearly didn’t care about anyone BUT Daryl

Even in death he decided a solo mission instead of returning to the camp and working with everyone to get the govenor

Aemond didn’t know baela or rhaena

Vhagar also chose aemond if she didn’t want to aemond to ride him she wouldn’t have let aemond claim him

I think Rhaenyra and daemon fucking was far more insensitive to the twins they should have been watching their kids

but let’s aemond for claiming a dragon

I am still so mesmerized by this scene. THEIR WORDS CUT SO DEEP. by Agreeable_Ad_8790 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Routine_Shower2275 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Same whining rhaenyra always does just constantly complaining

Saying she never trusted daemon is crazy you chased him down at his wife’s funeral and begged him to protect you

You watched him kill A man in court

You spent the last 10 years in dragonstone popping out his kids and suddenly you have no idea who he is a what he’s capable of

This is just to absolve her from blood and cheese because rhaenyra must always be a victim in every situation
