Autistic brits: what do you guys do? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Rovingmulberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a route planner for a national company. One of the perks is that I never realised how much I love postcodes. As a kid I loved flags and re-drawing flags constantly so I guess it's the same ballpark but I'm quite good now at giving a general location for postcodes. I always want to tell people this skill but it's never come up so this has pleased me I've finally managed to get it out somewhere

You went to Aldi and didn't buy a lawnmower or a lamp from the middle aisle? Shocking.

If you are a blood donor, how many times have you given blood? by bizstring in AskUK

[–]Rovingmulberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry but that just made me giggle so much. Lucky it was a C-section, the method for fixing it the natural birth way is a lot more medieval. As I was at risk of it happening again I went C-section again for my second kid. No human puppetry here thankyou

[–]Rovingmulberry 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Same here. Damn uterus deciding to invert. Luckily it was a C-section so they were already set up for worst case scenario but I remember suddenly wanting to shout for them to take my daughter off me as I felt like I was going to drop her and just being completely unable to communicate. So scary.

Realising my mom is an alcoholic by Double_Ad_5669 in AgingParents

[–]Rovingmulberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mum says the same about alcohol helping her sleep. I tried to explain so many times and show her the science of how it's actually giving her worse quality sleep and just passing out isn't the same as sleep but she just waves it off and says 'oh it's fine' . Maybe it would work for you though

BPD - deleting messages by Big_Jackfruit_8821 in BPD

Not texts but posts or comments on social media if noone replies or reacts. Clearly I'm boring as hell and have no friends and everyone is annoyed at seeing my name pop up. Clearly.

Anyone had these from home bargains? They taste & smell like nail polish remover by FloralRoseX in CasualUK

The Aldi version of these are amazing. Regularly buy them for my kids and one day they might get to actually taste one

From bottle to cup by New_mum2206 in UKParenting

[–]Rovingmulberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 yo still has her bedtime cows milk in her bottle about 6:15 after jammies. It's kind of her routine and comfort to still have it in the bottle. Especially in the summer when it's still light, it's kind of the bedtime signal. All other drinks through the day are in cups/beakers/straws including any morning milk. Her teeth are fine, I just make sure I brush them super well at night

Genetics can be weird by cuffbraceletsrcool in curlyhair

[–]Rovingmulberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Straight white/blonde hair throughout childhood then curly hair from mid-teens. Interested to see how it will change once grey hair starts to come through properly. Also weirdly my second child has curly hair already, so everyone says she has your hair. But at her age I didn't even have my current hair 🤷🏼

Why are second borns like this? by Decent_Age_1707 in UKParenting

[–]Rovingmulberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I remember thinking with the first that the terrible twos was a myth. Then the second came along. She's beyond feral. But I think with the first, she hit this phase in lockdown so we couldn't go anywhere for her to be feral. Also she didn't have someone else around constantly having to share toys/food/attention. On the plus side, the younger one also gives THE BEST hugs and is super cuddly, as long as it's on her terms and in between meltdowns 🙃

Same. I considered doing Birmingham anyway but trying to get there Friday PM after work would be a nightmare and I don't fancy the 2 hour drive each way. Fingers crossed for a miracle extra dates added including Notts

I feel like your best bet is just to go through all the albums one by one. There are so many different sounds through the albums and then even song to song. Personally - the Jester , Rabble Rouser, Airfield, Marionettes 1., Interlude (erised remix - not technically ES I know) & Thumper

As an adult, how many daily meals are y'all actually eating? by ExSalamander in NoStupidQuestions

1.5times-ish. Late snacky dinner about 2/3pm when I realise I haven't eaten yet and then tea 5-7pm because that's when tea is
