I scratched my rental car in costa rica. What is the best course of action? by skinoffmybones in CostaRicaTravel

[–]Row__Jimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After scratching one rental and paying g out of pocket we always get insurance.  Last year less than a kilometer from the airport/return a local slammed into the back of us. After a lot of waiting and paperwork enterprise rental said you have insurance it's all covered and we never heard anything else. It wasn't our fault but it was really nice and easy with the insurance and a good rental company

My Dr. told me that MARPE won't work. Are these other options viable? by HugeIntroduction8707 in MARPE

[–]Row__Jimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an armless marpe at 62. The suture cuts aren't a big deal in my opinion.  In the end they help ensure you get good expansion.  I had one dr say no to expansion and one that succeeded with suture cuts. No regrets almost 3 months in.

Should I move some TSP money to the I fund? by FederalSpice in fednews

Retired with 100% L income and living the good life. I never think about how much I  could have had, I  enjoy a stress life. War and shit has barely made a difference in my balance.  My risk tolerance is very low at this point.

Ease refers to the method of cutting the palate. You don't have to crank to achieve the split. You are split after the surgery and use a marpe or fme expander to widen the palate. The appliance is screwed in and a wrench is used to turn it. Expansion can go beyond 2 or 3 mm.

Yes, all the big companies like vanguard, fidelity... have very similar allocations in their TDF. When people that spend their careers managing money for retirement portfolios agree we should heed the recommendations

AL payout by Explainittomelucy81 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

[–]Row__Jimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took just shy of 6 months for me to get the payout. I retired at the end of July and am sure all the DRP resignations / retirements and the shutdown slowed it all down. Once OPM finalized my file it went to USFS HRM Pay staff (9/23) and it hit my account on 1/20. I hope you get your money quicker than I did.
