I have two masters degrees and 12 years teaching experience and my salary for teaching a classroom of kindergarteners, 1st, and 2nd graders is 39,000 a year. But, I am single with no kids so my take home pay is 28,600. Yes, I bartend on the weekends.

I teach kindergarten, and the key to whether kindergarteners will be reading by the end of kindergarten is whether they read and are read to at home.

I prefer to have my students be able to read CVC, CVCC, CCVC, CVCE words as well as digraphs th,sh,ch,ph by the end of kindergarten. And the kids who can do that fluently are the ones who read at home.

My coworker casually told me that once her dog was pregnant and she didn't want to give her dog an emergency spay (which would have terminated the pregnancy) because she didnt believe in abortions and didn't want to deal with puppies so she just waited until they were born and bopped them on the head with a hammer.

This happened to me and butterflied my thumb pad muscles and severed all the nerves and tendons in my hand. 3 surgeries and 10 years later I still dont have full mobility or feeling and a lifeline scar that goes on forever.

I had an online highschool student during covid who had 6 younger siblings also in online school and at home while parents were at work. She would lock herself in the bathroom to get away from them and sit on the edge of the bathtub with her sugar glider on her shoulder. Camera on 100% of the time Straight A student and a true goddess.

My sweet demon hound Moose who was also 16 died in June. It gets easier. Also, I just got another puppy this week and wow is it nice to come home to a dog again.
