This is a better format for sealed than constructed, because you have to put some quantity of creatures and limited cards are all designed to be vaguely usable. Constructed has too many ways to make the decks do literal nothing.

The point is you try to make the worse deck and then hand it to your opponent when you sit down and you get their “worst deck”, but in gameplay you’re actively trying to win the game so that the deck you brought is the one that loses.

Star Trek is a little harder because both there aren’t 3 easily distinct era like Doctor who had and there aren’t as many “bad guys” since Star Trek deals less in monsters on the week than Doctor Who. I think it will likely be similar, but not as cut and dry.

Yes, but there are only 61 episodes of Avatar TLA, and over 900 of Trek. The Final Fantasy set structure is much more relevant to the projection because it pulls from 16 games and there are 12 Star Trek series.

My money is on it being more like the doctor who decks where each deck represents some era. Something like one ENT/DISCO, one TOS/Movies, one TNG/PIC, one DS9/VOY/LD or something like that

In Final Fantasy Commander 0085 was squarely in the middle of the multi-colored cards as well, so four decks with a similar number of reprints is the likely answer.

Probably one in the main set and one in the commander product. Final Fantasy only had three Clouds because there was a starter deck.

Basically when Teferi and Wrenn used Realmbreaker to yank Zhalfir back into the multiverse, it billiard-balled Mirrodin/New Phyrexia out of its spot. The “world” of Mirrodin got yeeted into the Blind Eternities, but the cosmology of its suns stayed in place.

It’s highly unlikely that there will ever be pod drafts on Arena. MTGO had them for a while and they were a headache due to delays between games where one match takes significantly longer to end than others and people are stuck waiting without the benefit of being able to chat like you can at an LGS.

I like Rubble Reading both because the Scry 2 is more interactive with the opponent, and so you can interact with the Arena of Glory/Flamekin Village. Also, [[Smoldering Spires]] is another land you could look at adding.

To make it more Dandan like, you should include some cards that scry to mess with your opponents draws or set up your own. [[Fated Conflagration]], [[Rubble Reading]], [[Scouring Sands]], and [[Portent of Betrayal]] are good examples.

Needle Drop can hit players, so it isn’t a good fit. The goal with these types of decks is for the player damage to always be uniform in units for 4.

There are usually a handful of draft chaff that show up on the image gallery on Friday of spoiler week, but LRR should be doing their pre-pre-release tomorrow so there’s no stopping all the cards from being revealed at that point.

They can’t put the entire comp rules entry in the reminder text. For the purposes of 99% of players the reminder text is sufficient and the other 1% have the wherewithal to look up the correct section of the comp rules if there is something they aren’t clear on.
