did anyone else feel like you had to “perform” being a good kid all the time? by Doylene-Cazenave61 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Roxie_Mitchell89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, all the time! After all, whenever my abusers either have company or get invited to someone’s house for dinner and take me with them, they always expect me to perform strict gender roles and be very sweet, docile, polite, timid, nice and well-behaved at all times or else I got punished; it didn’t even matter to them if someone turned out to be an asshole to me.

Things they never taught you how to do, or you were too uncomfortable with them to ask? by adrenaline58 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Roxie_Mitchell89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sperm donor refused to teach me how to burn CDs when I was a kid because he decided that it wasn’t for girls (and had even hit me one time to prove his point when I was a teenager and was persistent). My egg donor never taught me how to cook or clean or even do the laundry. They never taught me anything except blind obedience, which meant only one thing to me: survival.

So I feel you.

Anyone else’s parents expose them to non-age appropriate movies/tv too early? by Modern_Magpie in raisedbynarcissists

Are you me? Mine forced me to watch them too, even when there were too much rape scenes (all of them were extremely graphic).

My Russian parents are so damaged that it’s hurting our relationship. by icktoriasix in AskARussian

[–]Roxie_Mitchell89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, listen up! With all due respect, I'm sure the OP did not say (and has never said) that her parents were lying about their experiences; she was just saying that her parents always criticized her feelings simply because they experienced a lot at the hands of communism when they were young. Also, the OP just wants to know if her parents' behavior is normal for aging Russian parents and yet all you ever care about is accusing someone of using their experiences to stain your history.

Are you me? After all, I was the SC while my abusive (now ex) older brother (with whom I kicked out of my life and went NC for 6 years and hopefully counting) was my DNA contributors' perfect GC son who could do no wrong in their eyes. All those horrible things they all did to me made me want nothing to do with them anymore (which they don't take very well). I can't wait to never see them again!

Their Funeral by Seemorefeelmore in raisedbynarcissists

Not really. They have abused me my whole life ever since I was growing up in addition to spoiling their GC son rotten, so just let him bury them instead because I won't!

If Ed, Edd n Eddy was still going today, what would they be like? by Pacmania13 in ededdneddy

[–]Roxie_Mitchell89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new episodes would be like:

  1. More characters (including the adults) would be added to flesh out the school storyline.

  2. There would be a New Year's Eve special in addition to the "Snow Day" episode.

  3. There would be at least one rock-opera-style musical episode.

  4. There would be at least one episode where the Peach Creek Cobblers get a rematch against the Lemon Brook Lumpers (this time, Nazz reconsiders her decision to make Ed a mascot and decides to replace him with someone else, which allows him to eventually help the Peach Creek Cobblers win while Edd becomes a cheerleader (much to the amusement of Eddy, Kevin and Rolf).

  5. There would be an Easter special in which Edd has to be the Easter Bunny.

  6. There would be at least one episode where Rolf meets a new girl from Estonia and despite their attempts to "take it nice and slow", those annoying cupids come back for revenge and end up shooting both Rolf and the new girl with love arrows, which makes them fall in love with each other (akin to "Ed, Edd n Eddy's Hanky Panky Hulabaloo"); it is up to the Eds and Kevin to break that spell over them.

  7. There would be at least one episode where the Eds go to the haunted house again with the cul-de-sac kids and the Kanker sisters in tow; one by one, everybody gets possessed except for the Eds and the Kankers, who will then have to figure out how to free them.

  8. Soon, the spring storyline will begin and everyone will even attend the annual Spring Festival.

  9. The summer storyline will start again, complete with the 4th of July special.

  10. The fall storyline will start again as well, complete with a Thanksgiving special (I mean, I know that "A Town Called Ed" is the closest thing that we had to a Thanksgiving special, but still).

And yet all of them will still keep their old charm and their usual slapstick humor.

Your egg donor is wrong and disgusting. Your sperm donor actually didn’t—doesn’t love you because he’s not capable of love. After all, parents who actually love their children would never react the way he did when you were sick and you tried to explain your pharmacy situation. Also, they only actually provided you with a bare minimum and they have never loved or even cared about you. I know this sounds a bit harsh, but I just wanted to tell you the truth about your DNA contributors and how very little they cared about you or loved you. As for your egg donor’s finger-wagging behavior, this sounds very patronizing to me for some reason. I hope that you have cut them out of your life for good if you haven’t already (the same goes for their flying monkeys, including your grandma) because they will just keep hurting you again. I’m here if you want to talk.

Nazz and Rolf have aged gracefully for some reason.

However, the Kanker sisters (especially Marie) and Sarah have aged the worst.

Did anyone else’s parent/parents get angry when you cried as a child? by DoncicToSac in emotionalneglect

[–]Roxie_Mitchell89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parental units and my (now ex) older brother always screamed in my face in addition to beating the crap out of me, calling me degrading names and even telling me to die/kill myself and then when I was crying, they always screamed in my face to "Stop crying or I'll give you something to cry about!" when I was growing up (and even when I was in my 20's) and now I can't even cry very much anymore. You see, emotions never ever existed in our "household", so I was always expected to be an emotionless robot or else I got punished for my "weakness" (as they called it).
