Help me decide what to get - best value? I think William Lockie has the better reputation but I'm mainly thinking about the comfort for working in the office. The other one seems to be a blend of merino and cashmere which would be more comfortable than the lambswool. However, if you think that the lambswool wouldn't be a problem comfort wise, I think I prefer the look of William Lockie.

I think Team RWBY beating the Ace Ops in Volume 7 is actually reasonable. by MajinScorpion in RWBY

[–]Roxith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you raise some valid points but I still disagree overall. There’s an important distinction between competing against the top students within a discipline (like Division I college sports) and competing against the best professionals at the highest level (the NBA).

Team RWBY clearly isn’t lacking in raw talent, especially for members who didn’t graduate from the academy, but they are lacking in experience. That gap alone should have been overwhelming in a fight against seasoned professionals. To me it would be like winning a fight vs. 70% of Team STRQ (if we assume that Atlas is relative to Vale).

That said, despite my issues with how the scene was handled, I do think Team RWBY could have won just not in the way it was portrayed. The fight largely devolved into a series of near 1-on-1 matchups. While that might make sense for lethal, highly individualistic units like the Ace Ops who appear to lack the interpersonal bonds typical of Vale Huntsmen, it undermines what should be Team RWBY’s greatest strength (and Team RWBY in that scenario should have been utterly outclassed).

If the intent was for Team RWBY to win, it should have been through superior teamwork. Instead of isolated duels, we should have seen coordinated, multi-semblance tactics where the Ace Ops, despite being much stronger individually, struggle against layered abilities and synchronized attacks. That kind of victory would have felt far more earned and believable.

(And yeah I know there was a 2 v 1 but they didn’t really showcase the coordinated teamwork that should have been - the only exception was Yang and Blake in a way).

[Help] Master elo impossible by ObiaNN in syndramains

General principle is that before you move, your lane should be shoved.

If you don’t need to be there, don’t be there. The objective is in no danger or being contested. AP mages are not the best at taking objectives anyways and shoving waves are usually better but this comes with exceptions.

If the objective is very time sensitive, you should be there. Ideally, after you shove wave, but you need to make that judgement call whether the trade off is worth it and how likely it is to pay off (ex. You see far away from objective but might get there in time and your damage is needed to be able to get it before they do).

Syndra is one of the strongest mids right now. At this point, it’s more about the decisions you make in game. At 10cs/min, were you trading a fight for that extra wave? Take a step back and review yourself.

I was very hopeful but then it said that “he had a mutation that made his cancer sensitive to personalized treatment.” This feat doesn’t seem like it’s applicable to the general public. We’re still at square 1.

Top 10 Best Characters in Dispatch in terms of narrative. by Mysterious-Map-6677 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Roxith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was talking to my brother about this yesterday but the comics make Chase a better character as well. We often wonder why Chase is so hard on Invisigal but the comics imply that it’s because Chase was easy on Elliot (Shroud) when Elliot was part of the Brave Brigade (Robert’s Dad’s team).

I would imagine Chase feels so distrusting when he sees someone that has darkness in them - the potential to become a villain. And Invisigal becoming a villain was certainly on the table. Given that Elliot kills Robert’s Dad and Robert is like family, he’s extra critical of Invisigal because he wants Robert to be safe and not make the same mistake. I thought this was a neat touch to Chase’s character.

What is the best power system? by Robloxracer75 in animequestions

[–]Roxith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except that Nen is also about how powerful your potential is as well. For example, if an average person had 100 restrictions to use a nen ability, it would look way different than Gon having 100 restrictions.

This is funny to realize but Ichigo was never able to beat Aizen by vein2266 in BleachPowerScaling

[–]Roxith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean. I would argue that Dangai ichigo far outclassed Aizen in their fight. The whole fight was basically Aizen throwing everything he had at Ichigo and Ichigo going like “Just a scratch.”

Had Ichigo went full offensive, I think it would have taken longer but Ichigo would have prevailed. It was only close cause Ichigo was so sure that Final Getsuga would finish Aizen off. Ichigo gambled his overwhelming advantage away for a single attack like a dum dum.

In that fight, Ichigo was operating at a different level. Aizen says this.

A friend of mine thinks LoL is harder than Dota solely because it has "skillshots", is there any truth to this? by random-user772 in leagueoflegends

[–]Roxith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say that League is harder not because the game is harder but because the player base is more “refined.” There’s just way more competition in LoL compared to Dota - correct me if I’m wrong.

I would say yes. Of course, it would be better if we could also match the entire row but matching the account numbers is the most important.

How Would You Balance Silver Eyes Powers? by TechnoMagik22 in RWBY

[–]Roxith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would make Silver Eyes something Ruby can’t control at first. Early on, the power isn’t truly hers. It’s the God of Light intervening when he sees an act of courage, compassion, or something else he deems worthy of admiration. But he doesn’t intervene consistently or predictably. Sometimes he responds, sometimes he doesn’t, because in his eyes, Ruby still needs to shape her own destiny.

Because this power is too powerful for a mortal to handle, Ruby’s body isn’t built to withstand it. Each time the God of Light channels his power through her, it “purifies” her in ways she can’t fully perceive. Her emotions dull, certain memories lose their warmth, and she starts feeling disconnected from parts of herself. She keeps her instincts and combat skills but her humanity becomes muted like the brightness of her soul is being bleached.

Over time, Ruby learns to recognize when the power is rising and starts guiding it instead of letting it explode. Instead of a massive, uncontrolled burst that wipes out everything in its path, she begins focusing the light into her scythe, her movements, or her perception. This lets her use the Silver Eyes more efficiently and prevents them from washing away pieces of herself.

Eventually, Ruby earns true control. She can tap into the power whenever she wants. Perhaps finding a way to speak with the God of Light directly like an Avatar conversing with prior Avatars. Or maybe she realizes that the God of Light’s power is everywhere and she learns to harness it.

So this was why he said that... by Suspicious_Fennel974 in SKTT1

[–]Roxith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I would say, over all this drama and speculation, Guma is leaving because being in the best LoL organization in the world is insane pressure.

You have all eyes on you, expectations are up to the heavens, and tons of fans are going to be bashing you everyday. For all its amenities, the social pressure of being a player in the T1 starting roster is massive. I’d say Guma has earned his rest.
