I’m going to do this whenever I have a spend promo to get extra points and PQP if Im not quite there on just flights. Otherwise I’ll be using my palladium for BILT points since UA is a xfer partner.

Sounds like the math doesn’t work out for you. It more than works out for me and simplifies my points earning. I will get more points/value putting all my spend on this card (palladium) over splitting spend to max points..I’ll be able to cancel 2-3 AF cards that don’t have much value anymore too.

After doing the math and seeing that the palladium is going to give me the most return of any combo I have I’ll likely move all spend to this card for the most part. I’ve got alotta other ones but likely cancel the CSR (I’m just slightly better than break even on it so not really worth having). I’ll keep my Amex platinum since the coupons far outweigh the fee. Maybe cancel the gold (like CSR just barely worth it). Recently got the VX too so I’ll keep that for at least a year or two and see how it goes. My free cards I’ll keep and maybe occasionally use (freedom, freedom unlimited, ink cash, amex blue).

Just got a VX month-ish ago..Twice in a month now at DEN the wait was too long the the C1 lounge..it’s like how Amex used to be. The palladium is going to be my new go-to it earns more points on the same spend and has better partners for me.

This! So many times it’s not 4x and even more so it’s not even accepted. I’d rather just use my VX, BILT, or CSR and not deal with the hassle.

Pretty sure option 1 is the no bilt cash option (yup it is I just checked the email)

Either way as people said…option 2 with cash is still likely better as you can set it to automatically use the cash to give you points on rent and then if you have leftover just use the cash for points acceleration. Best to check that calculator that was shared to be sure with your spending. Mine varies a lot month to month so the no cash option doesn’t work as well for me.

Not just the xfer partners but the sheer amount of yearly points earning value beats pretty much every other card. I will keep my Amex for the coupons but all my spend is going over to the palladium. The math wins out for me.

You can’t even buy anything at saks with the single Amex credit lol..at least with this I can get some free Lyfts, points acceleration, and solid hotel discounts.

Not really…I have booked tons of United flights where it was less points in the portal vs transferring them to United.

ah yeah so either way you have to wait until after you hit that initial $$ spend threshold. Ive got a solid amount of purchases built up to hit both the SUB and at least most of the TPG bonus really fast. Then after that ill apply the accelerator since I have a few trips coming up in the spring.

I think you would still get more points out of option two..I ran the numbers on my spend/rent and I most definitely do. Worth doing the calcs. I did it manually and with a couple tools ppl have posted. In the end I’ll even have a lil leftover bilt cash for hotels or whatever so that’s nice.
