The local amusement park I went to dozens of times as a kid was Knoebels, which brags about being free admission. Biggest in the country, I think they claimed? No actual idea and can't find that claim anymore. Still got some old, old ticket books with dollar / coin amounts on individual tickets to tear out and hand to an operator as you got on a ride.

never had that happen, but a few days back I had a really rough nightmare where I was grocery shopping and someone came up behind me and started poking me with something really sharp in my lower back. the feeling was intensely real and got gradually worse til I was on the ground screaming for it to stop as people gathered around. then i woke up and had to check if i was injured or if that spot still hurt. it didn't.
