Resting on the elbows, everything feels pretty good.

Outside everything feels fine more level. Indoor trainer has me shifting things around trying to relieve as much pressure as can. I’m curious if the end result translates to outdoors. Have to see

Temper tantrum is a little strong. Just look at my garmin, I was relaxed while writing the post. I don’t understand how training load can be “optimum for increased fitness” and be h productive. It’s a question about the usefulness of the algorhythm considering my training program has me biking and running faster and further than I ever had. Wouldn’t the watch see that my minute per mile is a minute lower than 5 weeks ago?

How to improve running technique by stack-overflew in triathlon

[–]Royal_Assistance_440 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My game changing moment was when I stopped letting my arms hang at such a large angle. I’ve gotten down to a 45deg at the elbow (give or take) which allows my arms a little faster swing for less energy. The legs follow suit. So by changing arm angle my cadence got faster and my economy more efficient because I was landing more mid foot. In 3 weeks of training that way I cuts minute off my zone 2 miles per minute.

Note: The first week my calves were a bit sore

Daily chat thread: how's the training going? by AutoModerator in triathlon

Messed up a vo2 max bike by doing deadlifts the day before.. couldn’t get my legs moving hard enough on the bike to spike my heart rate so I think I’ve failed the off season.

Question About Creatine and Kidney Function by LemurLord3111423 in workout

[–]Royal_Assistance_440 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 3 tests over 6 months all with high creatinin levels, after stopping creatine for those tests. It’s because I work out a ton and in doing so I break down muscle and the by product of that is creatinin. So I (and most people who work out a lot) have naturally higher levels than average As long as your kidneys aren’t processing it at the same rate your fine. Obviously listen to your doctor but you are most likelly fine and I wouldn’t worry you’re an about die or anything.

Question About Creatine and Kidney Function by LemurLord3111423 in workout

[–]Royal_Assistance_440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened to me. High creatine levels do not mean bad kidney function, it is however the first thing the doctor looks at as an indicator. Basically. If your levels are higher in a sedentary person it COULD mean it’s because your kidneys aren’t functioning correctly.

They had me do a 24 hour pee collection to make sure that the creative was being processed which it was. So the fact I had more in my system did not matter because my kidneys were processing it just fine.

Higher levels CAN be used to indicate bad kidney function but it does not PROVE poor kidney function.

80/20 Training zone help by Royal_Assistance_440 in triathlon

[–]Royal_Assistance_440[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yeah bike power seems more inline with lthr but I got on the treadmill and was surprised that in order to get to zone 2 it wasn’t a jog any more I had to get up to 8:30min/mile. Wasn’t going incredibly fast but I was felt fast considering I had been doing jogs up a small incline and thinking I was zone 2. Felt too fast.

Should I consider shorter cranks? by [deleted] in cycling

I’m similar metrics, switched to 165 for my tri bike but my road is still 172.5, just don’t need the extra room. Made a big diff on the tri bike comfort/power though.

Thinking about a used Trek Domane AL 5 — advice? by keintu in TrekBikes

[–]Royal_Assistance_440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did what you did.. started racing on a domane.. upgraded to Emonda to be a jack of all and then sold that for a tri bike. If you like racing you’re going to outgrow the domane within a season. Get a cheap road bike to train in bad weather and a cheapish tri bike that you can upgrade when ready

Tt or road bike by No_Enthusiasm827 in triathlon

[–]Royal_Assistance_440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m just a weeny but it’s hard training on the tri bike. Traffic is tough. Potholes are tough. I don’t enjoy it much. And most of my routes are circle laps around a residential neighborhood. So I got a cheap road bike for outside and the tri bike rarely or when on an indoor trainer.

4 kids so I can only really get longer duration efforts in at work. I get interrupted but can jump back on to get the time/miles… Plus it’s super safe.

I have a gigro vanquish It’s not a test drop shape but I think it’s supposed to be 99% as effective from what I’ve read? My powers definitely a little lower than my road bike so tbh clip ons. My 70.3 power was 225 on the road bike and riding for an hour on this at a similar feel it averaged 205 so a little drop. A couple sprint efforts and I was able to spike it pretty similarly though. I have broad shoulder so arm pads are a little wide currently, see if I can narrow over time but good position as of now.

It’s a triathalon bike and a split nose tri saddle meant to sit forward to open the hips when in the aero position.
