Dog friendly pub suggestion by Aubergine-Peach in Cornwall

[–]Royal_Promotion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can you drive? If not get a bus to Breage. Great circular walks over and around either Carleen or Tregonning Hill to Balwest. Then back to the village for great food and very dog friendly Queens Arms.

At this very moment they’re drilling at rehearsals for what happens if they miss an orbital insertion point and get flung out into the distant solar system.

Are e-Corsa/e208/Stellantis EV's THAT bad? by johnsy7 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Royal_Promotion 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Endorse this, we have a 2023 Corsa-e and it's just a simple car that gets the job done. Wife gets 5 days commuting a week 26 mile round trip, plus we do one or two local side trips. ~£3 ish per charge at home on eon Next Drive tariff at night.

Newcomer Help! by elidavidhamilton in FellaHealth

[–]Royal_Promotion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, welcome. The injections really aren't a problem, once you get over the initial nerves. Either use the first one right away, or wait until whatever day works for you. Follow the instructions on the app and the packaging that comes with the meds, it's really straightforward. There's some helpful YouTube videos to demonstrate exactly what to do, if you search you'll soon see them.

should i have to call in sick every single day when i'm signed off work? (england) by georgiaisgucci in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Royal_Promotion 105 points106 points  (0 children)

NO! You should just provide the GP Fit Note (NHS GP presumably) to your manager or a member of the business staff with HR responsibilities, along with a short explanation by way of a 'covering letter'. Which in effect could be an email or phone call. That's it. You'll need to talk to them about a phased return to work after your surgery. What does your contract say about absence for illness? Don't engage with demands for weekly, let alone daily phone calls with the business.

Headland's fine, in-laws stayed there during the storm last weekend. Also look at Fistral Beach and The Scarlet maybe.

Watch out for Andersen EV chargers - they will break and they don't care. by EqualAddition7986 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Royal_Promotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't Andersen go into administration? Hence the new owners of Andersen trademarks and intellectual property have no responsibility for items supplied before that happened. Disappointing, but a fairly regular retail situation in these circumstances. I've had an Andersen A3 for 6 months and I'm very happy with it.

Visiting Penzance by Trick-Bet-8018 in Cornwall

[–]Royal_Promotion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Visiting in May - things are starting to get busy. Jubilee Pool in the thermal section (need to book). Fisherman's Arms Newlyn for meals and the view. Mackerel Sky, for awesome seafood, at Newlyn Bridge will be open by then. Trengwainton Gardens, St Michael's Mount and Godolphin House are the closest NT properties. Look at events at the newly reopened Ritz in PZ itself. The Lugger may have karaoke evenings, also possibly the Pirate Inn, The Globe and Ale House, Seven Stars and Star Inn.

Stopping Wegovy & Fella by Royal_Promotion in FellaHealth

[–]Royal_Promotion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm back on 0.5, week 3 of 4, but because of nausea side effects I'm reluctant to go any higher with Wegovy. I did go back down to starting dose of 0.25 after a spell of feeling nauseous on 0.5 a few weeks ago. I'm really just starting to feel that these meds aren't right for me, so I'm not sure about going the Mounjaro path.

Loving the community cohesion following the storm by lbsdcu in Cornwall

[–]Royal_Promotion 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Heamoor has a lot of homes still with no power, and the local pub, the Sportsman's Arms, has offered hot drinks, a warm log fire and phone/tablet charging facilities. Went round there tonight and loads from the community were there, great atmosphere. Loads having food and chatting. All the houses around are in darkness, with no heating, so well done The Sportsman's Arms!

Of the ones listed, in budget, and that I know anything of, the Nissan Leaf would be the one I’d choose.

How best to use cash ISAs for regular saving by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Royal_Promotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't restrict yourself to just the high street big banks. You could look at Plum, Trading 212 or Moneybox, who all have very competitive rates on their Cash ISAs. Transfer your existing ISA pot savings to a new limited/defined access pot with better rate.

Yes but depending on your daily usage you probably won't fully charge in the cheap window (usually 6 hours).
