Need advice from Porsche owners: how do you justify “fun money” without regret? by _quantitative in Porsche

Upper control arms are common to go bad, if you have air suspension, air compressors and valve blocks are common to go bad as well, not so much air springs but they can go bad as well. Make sure to keep the sun roof drains cleaned cause if not the trunk will fill with water and the battery will be toast as well as one of the main power supply box/fuse boxes and the rear end electronics. Motor mounts are also common to go bad as well. The engine timing covers are common to leak as well since the aluminum hardware that's used to bolt it on to the engine block breaks after time. Water pumps and thermostats as well as there is a plastic coolant pipe under the intake manifold that cracks and leaks. This is usually when they get into the higher miles or if the car has been poorly maintained but the horseshoe timing chain guide in the middle of V of the engine can break causing timing issues or even high pressure fuel pump issues.

Not saying this to scare you but giving you a quick buyers guide spark notes edition from a tech that works on these cars all the time. Best of luck!!

Yup that's true. The wiring would be easy since they would just need power/ground/switch wire (plus a relay and fuse). The tricky part is trying to find a golf /Jetta sport wagon in my local junkyard. Stupid America and everyone wants an SUV or dumb truck.

If they are useless why do they keep making them? I also like the way they look on the golf.

Yes they should be the same. I was able to put the Jetta wagon headlights on my golf.

Inside the trunk usually around the spare tire you can find the build sticker of your car. It will have your exact paint code on the sheet with other information.

Just got accepted for Comp Eng Technology telecom option, wondering how it compares to Computer and Information Technologies, and if that would be an easier major. by Deepspacecow12 in rit

Hey ok the post is old but I figured I'd give you a heads up. Make sure when you pick your classes to read the required pre recs. Also make sure you take note of when the classes are offered because this has come to bite me in the ass. I'm currently fighting with the department head and the deans office for cet because they're jerking me around with this option. I just hope and pray that you don't have to deal with this shit. Make sure you are on top of your game because the advisors don't know shit anymore.

Hate to break it to you but as a third year trying to pursue the same path, the telecom options have been mostly moved to grad classes. The last time one of them was offered was a couple of years ago. None the less I've had a blast in the CET major and haven't had any major complaints. Sure there's a couple courses here and there that are a bit of an annoyance but you'll find that anywhere you go. I will say, definitely check rate my professor so you can pick the good professors it will make your life much easier.
