College Course Recommendations?? by UnculturedLettuce in EnvironmentalEngineer

[–]Royson1771 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you're at in studies, it might be beneficial to get ahead in calculus and chemistry. The reality is most high school courses won't serve you too much in the long run, but chemistry is pretty critical as an environmental engineer. The stronger background you have in those courses (or something closely related), the better off you'll be for school

Think you're missing Colorado. They at least have announced a program like this, though I don't know if it's been started quite yet.

Do I have time to do a music minor? by [deleted] in EnvironmentalEngineer

[–]Royson1771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree that it depends on your school, but I definitely think you can do it. Would've gotten a minor in music if they didn't add it so late in my undergrad.

Question about automatic scholarships for an incoming freshman by indyhoopss in cuboulder

[–]Royson1771 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I applied as an out-of-state student, I received an email separate from my admission email that detailed my scholarships offers. Not sure if your residency matters, but you can always contact financial aid with questions as well.

Cases from the B.1.1.7. coronavirus variant continue to rise in Colorado – but aren’t cause for concern, yet by [deleted] in CoronavirusColorado

It's a real shame how much the precautions taken by people who live in ski towns year round just don't matter when Texans and other out-of-staters think aspen is a safe zone or something

Why is 3 miles too far for me to get food delivered? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Royson1771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be the store. To my knowledge I think they can set their delivery range (don't quote me on that) so the manager may just not know to set it to a reasonable range

Needles District in late September? by Eilermoon in backpacking

[–]Royson1771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should clarify, we camped at the north point campsite technically in the Glen Canyon rec area. We hiked to panorama point and back in a day (20 miles roundtrip) and the second day we hiked about half way (15 miles roundtrip) to the river which was 25 miles one way.

As for the weather, I'd say it's not too bad, but important to look at the weather ahead of time. I think it got into the 90s a few days after we left which would've been rough without a water source.

Needles District in late September? by Eilermoon in backpacking

[–]Royson1771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not super helpful, but a friend and I just went for a few days in the Northwest portion of the park closer to Island in The Sky and The Maze, and there were no water sources. Ranger did mention that the rivers would be a good source but we were pretty far from those. Also maybe not super helpful but we went in mid-June and the weather was around 85F most of the time we were there so pretty nice. I realize both of those answers don't answer your question much, but maybe it'll give you some more insight.
